Like many women here my breast size has always been a 'thing' in my life. from early on they started and never stopped growing!! I was a B up at 11 and by 14 I was a C/D. By 16 I was DD(and was popping out of those but they were the biggest bras I could find!) at 22(15 years ago!) I finally was fitted at a specialty lingerie store for a bra to wear for my wedding . I was fitted for a 36 F and they didn't have any bigger cups that were a 36 band size, back then if the cup got bigger the band got bigger! it didn't fit well but was the best I had at the time. That one bra cost me $125!! 1.5 years later after my first child I went back to that store for a nursing bra and left again with something too small but the best there was. soon after was pregnant and nursing my second child. I lived in that nursing bra for 3 years!!

Finally a few years a new bra store opened up and ran over there. its where I have been shopping ever since!! the first bra they fitted me in was a 36 H. after 2 more babies I am now wearing a 34K. They are saggy and heavy after breastfeeding 4 babies and these bras saved my life. I still had/have the back pain, shoulder pain, shoulder grooves and fungal and bacterial infections under the breasts, but at least I had/have bras that fit! they cost a small fortune but my life would be much worse without them. and it also means that getting a bra that fits correctly DOES NOT take the pain away and suddenly make it so can stand up straight. it just keeps them up where they should be. I have always been active playing sports and running and its been a nightmare. I've had to order my sports bras from the UK specialty store and wear that plus another regular sports bra over. The cost is insane at $180 each!!) and I still end up with grooves and back pain. over the years I have seen massage therapists and physio therapists but nothing works long term. sure if I don't move, EVER, I might not have back pain. I don't wear dresses EVER, or button tops. I buy bathing suits 2 sizes bigger and still cut out the liner and wear a bra under.

When you are working on a sex- or porn-related project at Noisebridge, or are running such an event or presentation, provide reasonable notice and warning to allow others the opportunity to opt out if they wish. With this — as anything else — each person has a responsibility to be considerate of the comfort levels of others. Discussions, projects, and events of this nature should strive to exist in a culture of respect and consent.

Revision as of 22:57, 2 March 2018

This revision to the anti-harassment policy is being proposed on February 28, 2017, as a consensus item. The new part is the second paragraph:

Noisebridge is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, housing status, or language. We do not tolerate harassment of people at our events or space in any form.

However, we ask users of Noisebridge to keep in mind the relative social standing of different groups in the United States today. We don't hold that so-called "reverse racism", "misandry", "heterophobia", or "cisphobia" carry the same amount of harm as genuine racism, sexism, &c. Individual Noisebridge members and the Noisebridge community may refuse to act on complaints of harassment or discrimination like this.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, persistent uninvited communication, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Different users of Noisebridge have different levels of comfort about sex and porn. Nobody should be forced to experience sexual or sexualised language or imagery. This does not mean that such material is prohibited, just that such conversations, presentations, &c. should include only interested and consenting people.

People asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

People violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the space or the event at the discretion of any Noisebridge member.

Additionally, we may want to hew more closely to the Geek Feminism "Code of Conduct evalutions" criteria in the future
