Come to Noisebridge and learn life-saving skills for free during the week of Class-A-Thon.

CPR/AED

The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED certification class covers CPR for infants, children, & adults, choke-saving, and how to use an AED (automated external defibrillator). This course is for renewing, recertification, or initial students.

Course date and time: Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 6PM
Course location: Noisebridge, in the Hackatorium
Course Length: 3 hours
Class price: Free
Certification: American Heart Association (valid 2 years). You will receive the CPR card on the day of the class.

Who should take this CPR/AED class

Anyone, especially teachers (clear credentials), summer camp counselors, coaches, fitness instructors for ACE exams, foster care, social workers, maritime (US Coast Guard approved) nannies, parents, grandparents, babysitters (ten years or older), construction workers, & general workplace.

Who should NOT take this CPR class

Medical or healthcare professionals must register for the BLS CPR class. Childcare providers who need EMSA certification must take Pediatric First-aid/CPR course.

First-aid

The American Heart Association Heartsaver First-aid class covers the following topics: bleeding control, seizures, epi pen use, allergic reactions, snake bites, broken bones, poisoning, and other life threatening emergencies. This course is for renewing, recertification, or initial student and is considered a basic first-aid class.

Course location: Noisebridge, in the Hackatorium
Class price: Free
Certification: American Heart Association (valid 2 years). You will receive the first-aid card on day of class.
