= Participation =

Invite a knowledgable volunteer to describe who can participate at Noisebridge, including:
* Describe how to get an rfid key for the door system
* Describe how to get access to slack

Anyone is able to participate in the community, unless they are on the banned list.  No one is going to ban you because you accidentally let in someone on the banned list, just use common sense.  People who behave unexcellently are not welcome.

You can get on Slack if you are active here.  If you want to get on Slack, ask now.

Ryan: We are not really asking people to go on Slack anymore, we are encouraging a move from Slack to Discuss--Discuss is a much more open system, checks and balances that make it more public.  Makes people more careful about their wordings.  Kind of because it is a forum.  

Putting all of your stuff on Discuss is Excellent, because it is more open to the public than Slack is.

RFID keys - A person with a card with an RFID tag can let themself in without ringing the bell.

Ryan: Member is a very specific term at noisebridge. Philanthropy and membership is different.

jehan: Philanthropists donate to the space every month.  there is a recommended amount.  their RFID cards do not expire, and its 24/7 access.  same abilities as a Member, except no Blocking.  Application process is less arduous.

No Philanthropist applications tonight.

Can anyone here activate jehan's RFID access as he has been a philanthropist since May of last year.


In general if you are coming a bunch, you can ask for daytime access which any philanthropist can grant you.  It lasts for a month, then you need to have it reupped.

If you are interested in becoming a Philanthropist, get to know people in the community.
