SO BITCOIN IS UP AND THAT IS GOOD
Current Balances:
  BTC:  103,829.99 (5.45 coins)
  Cash:  244,155.78
  Total: 347,985.77
At the time of writing this we have a little over $100k in BTC and $244k in cash. That puts us a fair bit above our 20% target crypty threshold (42%). So once again it is time to sell off some crypto.
We have been using a dollar cost averaging method for selling off the excess crypto. There is a nice chart with all the selling history: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1R-UKS0wjn-H-eEeY3vd8Rq7ambhUp4Thcx1zS2Zv_7g/edit?usp=sharing
However while BTC is up, donations are down. Times are hard on people, and we are seeing a lot of donations trickle down. People canceling their recurring donations, and patreon revenue has  dropped ~$100 each month this year.
Working on fixing this:
So I've compiled a list of ~1200 noisebridge email addresses and I am drafting the first (hopefully of many) noisebridge news letters. Right now this includes:
        update on the move
        noisebridge COVID status
        plug to donate
        link to shopify tshirts

0) Respecting (recently updated) SF requirements relating to coronavirus pandemic, Noisebridge is temporarily closed for "business as usual".  Whatever details, safe to say for the foreseeable future: no in-person "events" (classes, tours, parties, etc).  And most activities related to the buildout should probably hold off for now - let's stick to Minimum Basic Operations to be on the safe side.  Take a break folks!
1) Going forward, limit number of people indoors at 272 Capp to 3 downstairs and 3 upstairs - whenever knowledgeable volunteers can safely get back to work building out the new space.  "Buddy System" to encourage effective social distancing, masks and like seriously - no more indoor dining ffs please enjoy your snacks and drinks outside thanks.
2) Knowledgeable Volunteers are encouraged to facilitate safe and productive use of the space.  Knowledgeable Volunteers schedule work in advance and coordinate efforts as much as humanly possible.  Knowledgeable Volunteers are best volunteers!  Because they schedule in advance and don't mess around in the space too much!  Knowledgeable Volunteers are welcome and will be supported in their relentless pursuit of excellence.
3) Prioritize some projects to safely open the the space for more participants, such as ventilation and making good use of the outdoor space.  Allocate funds and encourage donations for these "phase zero" buildout expenses - for example might could budget $1000 for some of the fans and shop stuff (tbd, not going crazy with stuff here but should arrange to expedite any necessary purchases in the interest of Moving the Project Forward).  Basic safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and exit lighting must be deployed as well, prior to other any other significant work being done by volunteers in the physical space.
4) Autoexpiration: Unless re-consensed after being in effect for 90 days, these extraordinary restrictions should be considered obsolete - and open to reasonable modifications at any point as things change.  We should check in at least every 4 weeks to refresh details and reconfirm relevance.  We can take it from there to increase capacity as conditions permit.
Anyway.  This proposal for (formal) Consensus claims to reflect the current state of affairs and a rough consensus of volunteers working to build out the space.  It's been going great so far and we'd like to keep it rocking - safely.  Further suggestions, questions, support (and moar volunteers!) from the broader Noisebridge community would be most welcome at this point.

zach:  I just want to say things for making this consensus item and I support it. I
think the safety recommendations coming from City Hall are the bare minimum and
I support noisebridge having the least amount of people / zero people in
person at the space until a Covid 19 vaccine is made readily available.
Obviously, occasionally people need to be there to set up / move, but aside
from that, I support the space being closed.

Evil dan: We could  rewrite this. I was kind of chatty when i first wrote this. an earlier version is more cut down. I want to get criticisms and concerns for the material essence of this. I want to get some coronavirus safety and concerns taken care of. That's kind of what we are talking about. It does not offend me. I did change it to include 90 days vs march 14. I'm gonna mute now.

Pyconaut: I agree with the proposal, but think we might need an additional note about building modifications if we set up permits (would this affect contractors putting in an elevator

X: I think that this is to support what we are doing to maintain where things now. We renew this monthly. and each 90 days or whatever. The reality is that we'll probably not work with construction for a few months.

Carl: Hi. I want to ask about the limits on the number of people per floor.
(we read the notes)
I'm happy to see how much ventilation there is with the limit of 3 per floor
Pyconaut:  I think ventilation is an issue when the door is closed

Evil dan: the real issue is being able to keep on eye on how people are handling themselves and if there are extended conversations. We need to be mindful and help each other to make sure we are 100 percent safe in a very high risk environment. We might be too many or too few.

carl: i think that's fine

Pyconaut:  The mission is really high risk as well, sojust getting to noisebridge increases risk a lot

X: i appreciate the comments dan and carl.

X: are any capital M members blocking this? THere are no expressed blocks that I heard and no objections here. Pyconaut does not block. this is part of Capital C consensus, but we'll keep it posted for another week. I'll call a quarun for procedureal concensus.

Evil dan: I think this is funny the way I wrote it. If we pass it as is it should be rapidly updated. I want to rewrite it to be less silly. ok that's all. I'll leave it at that. No need to pass it. We kind of doing this already. I'd just like to see someone give issues or concerns with how this works without some serious concessions.

pyconaut: I agree we should wait a week. But start applying these things right now

(kitty poops on curtain perhaps desiring to block the measure)

X we lack the members to do this so. It seems that the language needs to be cleaned.

Carl: do we want to tie this to the color code status or just stick with the 3 month period.

Evil dan" we'll probably be stricter than city guidelines. We'd like to make our own decisions and not rely on the city entirely. Also very important not to piss them off.

Carl: we are just going to continue this each 3 months?

Evil dan: we want to be flexible and reactiave and proactive. We want to be agile and not get too tied to what the city or state might want to do. We can spend more time outdo. it depends on the concensus. I want to figure out what works in terms of safety. Everyone seems cool with the (rambles longer)

pyconaut- I think if it can be tied more to the danger in the mission more then just the city, that couldbe helpful.

X Kitty feels better. we have some more discussion items.

Relay: curious about key access to the space

Carl:want  to ask about the protocol about how do we notify when we want to work on the space. I just post on slack. Maybe we should have a preferred method to encourage people
X : no reasonable offer has been refused. so the public forms have always been. Access control is part of that. Evil dan and I both have been spending lots of time in the space and would love to hand more keys to people that would ecellently do the same. If you want to excellently do so on some week days. as much as possible for it works within our limits.
carl continues: I'd like it to be easliy documented and contacts and means to contact to contact the space.
X: Have you had an issue with this protocol for accessing the space?
Carl: i posted in general and was not sure what to do.
X: We don't have one set way to do it. it seems you had a challenge I want to know if it has been reasonable for anything that you'd like for us to imporove on this.
Carl: I just want some info on the wiki.
X: there have been some wiki edits and we'll make some edits on how to get on. These are public facing pages (and we are closed) that is by design. I posted a sign with my number outside. I'm not ready to post that online. If anyone has legit business and a way to get Floshentashen fixed. There is an RFID system that we want to add to this later. Noisebridge is closed. There is only very limited access to the space.

dan:

pyconaut- We definitely need access control up, and I think to much documentation might be bad, as we are changing so quickly docuntation might confuse people (example is the zoom links still being up).

X: Backing away from moderation, Relay now facilitating...

pyc can you do the screen share, and will have collective notes?

pyconaut to x- I am split screen on A phone (I don't think I can also share my screen

roger, dodger you mobile optimize away

Banana has the screen share...

<big>CALL FOR PARTICIPATION, YOUR NOTES COULD BE HERE...</big>

Dan: talks thru a bunch of whats goin on at the space, and so could you be too.

broader discussion spurred by what is how does power dynamik work

Relay: talking about their experience dealing with x/pyconaut/dan at space, and coming down. came down to space and worked on some things. sounded like generally good experience, and had open expectations, would be ok if nothing happend too.

=== Discussion Item - Talk'n Trash with Recology ===

Recology contacted (I wouldn't even call it social engineering, are you noisebridge, what do you want to change, ok). So all of our trash service has been temporarily paused under a COVID-19 provision. Service will automatically resume as it was on January 4th 2021. We should contact them at least a week before that to extend the pause or revise our current service.

We <s>are</s> were spending over $600 a month to have mostly empty bins picked up. We can reduce service all the way to a single half the size (32) bin for $88 a month with once a week service or anything in between.

We still have all the bins, to gradually fill and get service as needed. In the meantime if you have the opportunity to pack it in, please pack it back out with you, and reserve in house bins for actual garbage left over from the move.

To that end, note for Treasury @themanmaran we have over a $1,200 tab (September/October) that needs a payment in the next two weeks to avoid a business lein and additional service charges, and then will owe a little less than $600 for Novembthink

pyconaut-
I think one of each small bin (and no compost tell we reopen (as it encourages food)).

X-1 small green, blue, black can is the $88/mo service and encourage people to eat outside

=== Discussion Item - Floshentashen ===

X I want to hook up the floshentashen and have a twitch stream where people can hack on it outside the space. I'm down to coordinate some sort of system.

Carl: I need to do some of the code to fix that. The main problem is latency. In the space lag is low. Outside the lag might be terrible.

X use the cast system or something maybe run it to pegasus first. that would be faster and get a nice framerate.

Carl: status of the floshentashen kernel boots now. displays images now. It is not connected to the ethernet as it was before. we might build a smaller version upstairs.

X please put in the wiki how to set up the autoboot and put it psychodelic demo mode.

Carl: there might be script in the home directory. otherwise...

Pre-Amble[edit]

Excellence[edit]

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other.

(What does that mean? How does the Anti-Harassment Policy fit into this? Are we SURE we know what being Excellent is? This is an important and fundamental conversation at Noisebridge, so let's give it like 120 seconds.) Knowlegable volunteer: what do people want to hear about this? Unmute your mikes. Does anyone want anything clarified? x: Evil dan, please do this.

Dan: (fearing rambling) Doocracy is how noisebridge is run. if you want to do someting you do it. if it might upset others, ask about it. For example painting a wall green can be edited like a wiki. you can paint it yellow later. If it needs to be green and there is a discussion between parties, it can be discussed till there is a resolution.

Excellence is paying attention and and considerate and esepecially to other hackers. We care for one another. we want everyone to enjoy their experience at noisebridge as much as possible.

Participation[edit]

Everyone at Noisebridge is a participant at Noisebridge.

(What does that mean? How do you get a door key? Access to Slack, Discuss, etc?)

Moderating a meeting is good. taking notes is good. you can get involved in a new space 3.0 and participate in that. Any questions?

Philanthropist definition[edit]

A Philanthropist at Noisebridge has earned enough trust from the community to open and close the space.

(What does that mean? What do we expect from Philanthropists? How do you become one? etc) Philanthropy is a way to be excellent to nosiebridge. Give money 40$ or 80. its about knowing how to access the psace after normal business hours. we will keep it the same in version 3.0

Membership Definition[edit]

Membership in Noisebridge entails community Trust in Consensus.

(What does that mean? What do we expect from Members? How do you become a Member? etc) A capital M member pays attention to Capital C concensus items like making major changes or things involving finances. They must be highly trusted to join. they can block big C consensus items.

Consensus[edit]

Consensus is how the Noisebridge Membership may change how Noisebridge works.

(How does Consensus work? What types of things are good for formal Consensus? What is small-c consensus? What is a "block"?)

Financial Report[edit]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo. SO BITCOIN IS UP AND THAT IS GOOD Current Balances:

 BTC: 103,829.99 (5.45 coins)
 Cash: 244,155.78
 Total: 347,985.77

At the time of writing this we have a little over $100k in BTC and $244k in cash. That puts us a fair bit above our 20% target crypty threshold (42%). So once again it is time to sell off some crypto. We have been using a dollar cost averaging method for selling off the excess crypto. However while BTC is up, donations are down. Times are hard on people, and we are seeing a lot of donations trickle down. People canceling their recurring donations, and patreon revenue has dropped ~$100 each month this year.

0) Respecting (recently updated) SF requirements relating to coronavirus pandemic, Noisebridge is temporarily closed for "business as usual".

Maybe we should have a preferred method to encourage people X : no reasonable offer has been refused. so the public forms have always been.

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION, YOUR NOTES COULD BE HERE...

Proposals for next week [edit]

(Add any new items for consensus to the Current Consensus Items pagTyler.

Discussion[edit]

Discussion Item - Space[edit]

General space use and access, summary of Consensus, and anything not covered?

X generally available to host/facilitate excellence for space hacking weekdays with minimal scheduling noon'ish.

pyconaut- look above at concensus for some discussion about access discussion.

Discussion Item - Talk'n Trash with Recology[edit]

Recology contacted (I wouldn't even call it social engineering, are you noisebridge, what do you want to change, ok). So all of our trash service has been temporarily paused under a COVID-19 provision. Service will automatically resume as it was on January 4th 2021. We should contact them at least a week before that to extend the pause or revise our current service.

We are were spending over $600 a month to have mostly empty bins picked up.

To that end, note for Treasury @themanmaran we have over a $1,200 tab (September/October) that needs a payment in the next two weeks to avoid a business lein and additional service charges, and then will owe a little less than $600 for Novembthink

pyconaut- I think one of each small bin (and no compost tell we reopen (as it encourages food)).

X-1 small green, blue, black can is the $88/mo service and encourage people to eat outside

Discussion Item - Floshentashen[edit]

Carl: there might be script in the home directory. otherwise... ft-server https://github.com/cgorringe/ft-demos

End of Meeting[edit]

we talked about ham radio and stared at http://plasmajs.com/
