Les - Work party at the Omni Commons (sister hacker space) in Oakland this Saturday (11/13) from 12-5PM. Will be patching the roof and preparing the space for in-person events by December
Steve - no other noisebridgers showed up last time, maybe some more will come in the future! Great time to meet people, from 12-5.
Les - It's actually a lot of fun, no Tom Sawyer'ing. Highly recommend

Mediation work - Mark is available to speak with ppl, if anyone has time.
TJ - WE've talked with him on friday

   = Excellence =
Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other.

(What does that mean? How does the Anti-Harassment Policy fit into this? Are we SURE we know what being Excellent is? This is an important and fundamental conversation at Noisebridge, so let's give it like 120 seconds.)

JD - you wanna be the person you want other people to be. NB is based on excellence, enough said.

P - Leave a trail of smiling faces where you go

TJ - Noah and Robert for starting CHM twice this week
Dave - Leon for helping out on purge shelf. Leon responded to a call for help

   - Would like to commend Klaus for rearranging white board and tables downstairs, and the pi table set up.

Lovi, TJ, and John spent some time on Friday night reorganizing shelves

   = Participation =
Everyone at Noisebridge is a participant at Noisebridge.

(What does that mean? How do you get a door key? Access to Slack, Discuss, etc?)

Dave - anyone who cames in door is participant at NB. If you want to do something, do it. Feel free to join our online communities. Discord / Discuss can easily be signed up for. If I see you for a couple days, I'll give you invite to slack. Anyone can get access to the space. After a little bit, we can give you 30-day access on your clipper card.

   = Do-ocratic Task Board =
Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Pick some tasks from github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

   = Philanthropists=
A Philanthropist at Noisebridge has earned enough trust from the community to open and close the space.

(What does that mean? What do we expect from Philanthropists? How do you become one? etc)

Steve - anyone can be participant. If you want 24 h access, give us money. Need to know how to open space up and shut down. Need to be on your teip letting ppl in, asking people to leave. Wanted ppl to be around for a month, but recently has been shorter, because $$$.

Philanthropist - Nikon - will be a little bit longer

Chris Albough - Sponsored by Lizzard - Not here , maybe save that for later...

   = Membership Binder =
Membership in Noisebridge entails community Trust in Consensus.

(What does that mean? What do we expect from Members? How do you become a Member? etc)

Wolf - everyone is a small-M member, but big-M members is more responsibility. You can block consensus items, which is a big thing to do. Can also sponsor ppl for philanthropy.

Leon - it's basically more responsibility

   Potential member - Dave

Steve - I'm worried you could blow up on other people, so there's a small amount of danger

Dave - thanks for the honesty. I think fineline is right

TJ - no he's not, Dave sets the rules here

   fineline - u right tho

JD - The times you get short, it's been a buildup, more calculated. It is a conscious decision to do that.

Dave - I've recognized I've been unexcellent, and I'll need to work on it. I'll need to get upset about things

Steve - like the lock, Dave got angry, but apologized the next day, which is great.

Dave has passed for Week 2!

   = Financial Report =
Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

   * Funds in bank:
   $457k total

Sophia; prior, we had membership fees and .. . We laso had cash donations. We also had random donations from like 4 years ago, from people in Berlin.

Dave : Last time, vast majority were the $5 or less donations.

Sophia : No way that works mathematically.

TJ : overall flow / cash donations are a lot less.

Sophia : we need to get money / paypal working again

Dave : Stripe should be working (QR code0
Star : You need to advertise Patreon better, I just heard of it now.

Sophia : We do have a payment system, jstu need to advertise more (QR code and such)

lxpk : We did a lot of fundraising, money + dumb luck. What we were raising money to buy building. More consistnet contributers. Have a scan of mural saying "Donate to Noisebridge!" and upload it, update it with higher amount. Do things to being in encourage ppl to become philanthropists.

Could also do another Gamebridge boot camp. We're good at fundraising, let's do it.

Sophia : every time someone comes to Noisebridge, they say "I didn't realize NB is open" . I'm not sure how to communicate it more. We're lighting up all the medias. How do we get people

   lxpk : Grand reopening fundraiser

Nikon : Did not realize NB was open. Went to old spot, realized no longer existed, went to new spot. It will permeate over time

Sophia : There are like mailing lists, could we send stuff out?

Dave : Liz or Danny seem like they would know.

LXPK: If make it a goal, we need to plan for 6-8 weeks, to plan it and doing well. We had a fundraising event committee.

Dave : Just start it and say who's interested.

JD : Perfect way to do email list, remind people that there's a pulse

Dave : If ppl are going to old space, maybe we could do a pirate sign or something over there. Entire space is vacant, other than store, so they wouldn't mind.

Sophia : No law is enforced there, so just do it

Dave : So I'm engaged in a fund to take AV system. I'll see it again. If you're interested, put in a donation, we're trying to make it easier to do meetings.

Steve : I will give $50 as soon as Tyler reimburses me.

DAve : Raise your hand if Tyler owes you $$ (people raise hands). he needs help
If the funding is not enough, focus on scaling back, less nice mixer, less mics

Steve: Why not wait? I will get $50

Dave : Is the Internet good?

lxpk : way better than next week. It's at the mercy of laptops rn

Dave : it's a webcam mic instead of the real.

General community could benefit in addition to the meetings

Wolf : System that always work. People keep shuffling things around. Which is seperate from other equipment.

Dave: Maybe we have stumbled upon using the webcam

   == Fundraising Update ==
   How's it all going

   *See upthread*
   = Consensus =
Consensus is how the Noisebridge Membership may change how Noisebridge works.

(How does Consensus work? What types of things are good for formal Consensus? What is small-c consensus? What is a "block"?)

Sophia 2 inds of consensus. Small-c , just ask people in the space if they're ok with that. Par tof daily exisstenc of space. Big-C, which happens on Tuesday meeting, Major changes to space. Vaccine mandate, signing lease for this space. Marked increase in number of big-C over the last several months, if you were there, you'd be familiar. Take two weeks, all Members must consent.

Etiquette is to not block consensus item unless you'd leave the space iwthout it. Only done by Members. Only 4 at the space

Dave - there is nothing there

JD - there is a difference between unaminity and consensus, let's save that for later.

lxpk - best way to handle consensus item, is to change and modify it until it passes. if everyone came to a meeting just to blcok, nothing would happen. But if you propose changes, then a more excellent item could pass.

Sophia - one exapmle, consensus items were proposed, but Liz blocked this if available in any form.
TJ - Putting into law what was already in practices
DAve - only one proposer, we could do more offline.
Sophia - vaccine was good example. broccoli blocked, but consented with change of wording
 LX - https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Hosting_an_Event
Ronald - everyone should be able to teach classes. Everyone can already, but I don't know what steps would be taken

TJ - just let me know

Ronald - people come the most during classes

JD - now that we do have classes, can we put out donation box for chippng in, etc. Second, how are we regulating cash donation boxes. Long time ago, there were cameras in the boxes. Is there a close down procedure

Dave - Paul and Liz have been recording cash donations, other than that, there is no official thing.

Sophia - TJ could you put a chess meetup/class Fridays from 7 to 10.

Nikon - we need to excuse ourselves, but have a nice evening

Dave - Should we make a task to do donation stuff

JD - if it's secured in the way TJ says, it should be ok

Wolf - I wanted to mention side note on whether we have cash app or Venmo . I would like to set that up

Dave - It could be our money pot.

Leon - is it Noisebridge's paypal?

== Proposals from last week ==
(Add any items which are consensed upon or someone has raised a principle objection for to the Consensus Items History page.)

== Proposals for next week ==
(Add any new items for consensus to the Current Consensus Items page.)

   = Discussion =

   == Discussion Item 1 ==
   Fundraiser

lxpk - started a page for it. Now 272 Grand Reopening on the wiki. will post link to previous fundraiser for background. Just put ideas on it, put ideas together, and it happens.any ideas for entertainment, cleaning up stuff, etc. We need to push some things to the decides, but contribute what we want
Just missed 11th anniversary, but we skipped it due to moving

lxpk - https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/272GrandReopening

   JD - need a gate.

lxpk - great to have music club here
   leon - how late

Sophia - apparently at hack comedy, someone said "STFU" . That's the apparent limit. We are direclty adjacent to aparmant building

   Dave - that's fair

   JD - amplified, etc.

Dave - I think the way the space is arranged now, will work a lot better because we could convene here instead of the garage.

   == Discussion Item 2 ==

   Treasurer

Sophia: Tyler seems to be busy. Perhaps he should be replaced. I have slacked him, didn't respond. He has a lot of other things going on, someone else coudl take up work.

Dave : At the very least, get access to our bank account and see things. Give our fund updates, other stuff. But there's a lot of knowledge sharing to be needed.

Sophia : We have to ask him to do some of the stuff, get into places.

Dave : It could be a lot of work.

Sophia : It could be a few of us with venmo / bank account credentials.

DAve : I think it's a lot of work, taxes, questionnaires, etc.

TJ : Spread the work among people

Sophia : People are having issues. So we need to fix that.

   TJ : what's the AI

Dave : We'll discuss online, it's early for escalation

   == Discussion Item 3 ==
   Library
   Call for help

Sohpia - any checkout system? Cyrrently use honors system, but web app is better

Wolf - I would rather use library cards, easier.

Wolf - just need it to be usable

JD - Fine woodworking magazines, where they'd go?

Wolf - just use woodworking skills to make the shelf for woodworking

Dave - I don't think checkout system will be very good. It's an anonymity issue, they'll put it under a nym and we can't reach it. Genuinely interested in how that turns out

Sophia - If someone at NB wnated to steal a book, we can't stop them. Maybe a phone #. Only philanthropists sounds a bit much,

Dave - People who need books most don't have the money

   == Discussion End ==
   Sunday evening

fineline - I supported Liz asking to Lovi.

A person came into the space, I was super stoned. We got more stoned, someone came in, Lovi had private discussion. Lovi said she was suspicious of the space. I said "maybe oyou're paranoid bc you're stoned" , she said "maybe yeah." She wasn't

Dave - I support the decision, don't like to discuss without her. Well meaning person, don't always trust judgement.

TJ - I don't think the person is coming back

Steve - the breaking part was calling the person a cow.

Wolf - There was also a DM that also was unexcellent.
Wolf - we should also create #bravespace on Discord, to protect from riffraff.

lxpk - Originally, the bravespace had a gap between public access and not. Do people still want to ahve the bracespace there?

lxpk - I don't htink the mirror should be done between discord and slack, because of privacy

   star - what is bravespace?

Steve - Some people's speech were being opporessed. One person put up a channel not ideologically in line with the safespace concept. If someone rubs you the wrong way, talk it out. It's not cool to assume that the person is acting in bad faith, and ask to leave. It is cool to work out with them in good faith. If I'm politically scared, because someone would ostracize you, then

Wolf - it got morphed into the conflict resolution / drama channel, from what I understand

Leon - if the drama starts on the platform, there should be space on that platform without having to move, where that would lead to weird power dynamics, where people could talk about it without the person knowing. Maybe it shouldn't be mirrored for reasons, but everyone sohuld have conversations on the relevant topics

JD - We've got some people that go on one only , bounce between all of them. Howmany am I supposed to isntall?

lxpk - Direct response - didn't make a Discord for NB for years, made it for livestreaming and hangouts at NB. Jitsi is hard bc it is single stream. Very hard for sub conversations could happen. If could figure out Jitsi and not do Discord.

Dave - I think Mark is doing Gamebridge is moving to Noisebridge.

Dave - We are done! Goodbye internets!
   = End of Meeting =

   ==Note taker posts the notes==

   * Clean and tidy the meeting notes including removing all these really verbose instructions.
   * Fill out the short summary at the top listing just announcements, consensus items, discussion topics, and names of new members and philanthropists.
   * Copy paste the notes to the next meeting page. (They will become Last meeting at midnight.)
   * Email the meeting summary to Noisebridge Discuss and Noisebridge Announce lists.
   * CC on the email treasurer@noisebridge.net and secretary@noisebridge.net if there are new members and philanthropists.
   * Edit the Current Consensus Items if anything is proposed for consensus next week.
   * Edit the Consensus Items History if anything was reached consensus or failed to reach consensus this week.

   ==Fun things to do after==

   * Reprise of the Hackernationale. [This is anarchy - we do what the wiki says!]
   * PGP Key Signing could happen now (if it doesn't happen before any given Meeting). Ask others around the space or check the list to see who wants in on the action.
