Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

*Emmeline: approx 60k in cryptocurrency. Unsure of what it would be now. 200 in donations in cash boxes

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Mark: buy stuff for the gate, more bars, hinges, etc. Will come back with exact report next week as to what he's going to get and what it's going to cost. June: possible power components

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if people ask

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Discussion[edit | edit source]

Discussion Item 1[edit | edit source]

Shubham - hackathon hosting proposal.

Code Day - organizing bay area event. The purpose is to get high school / college students involved in coding. 25 year age cap. No cash prizes. Older mentors welcome. The projects are based on how hard you pushed yourself to learn. Goal is allowing beginners to break into tech. Is on November 20th. He's made a wiki page: https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/CodeDay_BA

Discussion Item 2[edit | edit source]

Mark: Donations. Perhaps we should make it more explicit that we are NOT accepting donations, we have a lot of junk around the space, but maybe there are some things we want that we should more clearly define. P/Mu: We should get hardware fasteners, etc. things that we already need and have places to store. Also depends on area/space - too much in the music room. Mark: Thought experiment: say you're just hanging out here, and someone comes with a bunch of music shit, and wants to donate to you and what do you do. Leon: could have a discord channel where people post potential donations so that we can decide ahead of time Mark: My thought is that there might be a situation where a lot of people bring in stuff who don't get involved online. Many people won't have the foreknowledge to check online etc. Maybe we should have signs around that say that we don't accept donations, or have a specific list of what we'd accept. P/Mu: rule that no donations in person, only slack/discord. Les: Could have inner slack/discord with evolving list of things we actually want, update printouts to say "No donations except.." Leon: Could have it up on doocratic task board. Loren: What do you want to come from this discussion items? A sign up? Mark: We need to consense on a system for filtering donations. We need to get on the same page as a community Les: person who wants things can print out new sign with updated list? June: what about a whiteboard? Mark: first document would be wiki page?

Do-ocratic taskboard[edit | edit source]

Loren: noise cancelling wall? Mark: Work party happening Thursday night

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

End of Meeting[edit | edit source]

  • Email the meeting summary to Noisebridge Discuss and Noisebridge Announce lists.

  • Edit the Current Consensus Items if anything is proposed for consensus next week.
  • Edit the Consensus Items History if anything was reached consensus or failed to reach consensus this week.

Fun things to do after[edit | edit source]

  • Have some beers on the patio
  • Prepare the next weeks' meeting notes
  • Lick the walls. Or just draw on them
  • sing the Hackernationale (this almost never happens)
