Guilds[edit | edit source]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")

Group of people that carry on knowledge and help maintain the equipment and the safety of the space

There are a lot of sub-communities within Noisebridge.

Games Guild[edit | edit source]

No updates for the next few weeks due to new

Woodworksing Guild[edit | edit source]

Woodhacking Wednesdays

CNC Guild[edit | edit source]

Circuit hacking guild needs some people to help run it

New Members/Associate Members[edit | edit source]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

Everyone that comes through the door is welcome to use the space, subject to appropriate safety training.

  • Associate Members/Philanthropists - Greater access but responsible for the space. We donate.
  • Member - Responsible for the space and community. Ability to block consensus process.

Eleanor - No objections to associate membership.

Andrea Cruz - Python class. Sewing and learn laser. Loves art and creativity. No objections.

Daniel Maize - International development project. Smart grid project in Tanzania. Likes the space and creativity. Art, tech, fashion. Circuit hacking and exploring. No objections.

Sergio - Coming for 6 months. Working on prototypes. Musical instruments market. Is trying to help take care of the space and maintain things in the right way. Can help in metal and wood shop and with trash. JD adds that this guy is great.

JD - Wants to be a Full Member. Gave descriptions of what Full Membership means.

Later discussion item mentioned: John would like to do some painting.

Financial Report[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

expenses: 12k revenue: ~8k

We have money in the bank, but we are still losing several thousand dollars per month. We would prefer to stop draining all of that money...

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Noise wall for Woodshop will cost money. Currently putting together proposal (check out cabal on discord)

Sound Isolating wall state - On hold until we have an inspection. To be up to code, we need 44" wide access, no lockers, nothing. Need sprinklers from a licensed plumber. After that, they would be considered partitions and not need special inspection / approval. Farley has suggestions for this project. Wall would also help with dust.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

  • Any progress on Sunday Streets prep. Barakados / Sean(sp) volunteered to help. With setup, and takedown, and explaining.
  • Fundraising through Guest party?
    • Evening event
    • Previous/precedent: GodWaffleNoisePancakes, morning

In the past there was a waffle pancake show on Saturday as a fundraiser. Some good, some not good, but overall positive. What happened to them? No one knows...

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if people ask. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Update to anti-harrassment policy.[edit | edit source]

https://docs.google.com/document/d/14BlMYh-i1CbzUGj_AaqaF-YI2sL4WNokhJxEbev0G-U/edit

The goal of the new policy is to be more welcoming to women. They is still some discussion on the new policy, so it is continuing to be worked on in the background.

Proposal to 86 Tilda for at least 6 months.[edit | edit source]

Moved to the end of the meeting.

Event Update:

17th of June, Elan might be a sponsor for an event.

17th june, 1st july — https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Queer_social_platform_workshops

Discussion[edit | edit source]

Discussion 1: alcohol in the space[edit | edit source]

Max has seen irreposnible use of alcohol in the space recently, without cleanup. John feels no food/drink in the woodshop. Make signs--share the message. Loren says community standards could include responsible use of alcohol in NB. Back patio smoking may not be good for people in the metal shop, but there aren't any good spots for them to smoke. Not sure what the best solution for this is. Leave this to small C consensus item.

Discussion 2: Paint over? Where?[edit | edit source]

John's question about if / what we want painted, in hallways, rooms, stairway, and bathroom.

Painting walls, and hallways, upstairs. Which ones, if we can agree. Bathroom too?

John wants to paint the back stairway area. Farley could help figure out what is worth keeping... John looking for guidelines or opinions on what to keep and what to get rid of. Max supports this. Brian willing to help with art / painting. John just wants to clean it up.

JD wants to clean up the downstairs bathroom.

Discussion 3: Rollup door[edit | edit source]

Sometimes causes temperature and access control. Keeping it closed helps keep things in control.

Discussion 4: Doanstairs bathroom[edit | edit source]

Follow-up in project management.

Saturday - meetings. Make pancakes.

Late announcement[edit | edit source]

  • wiki is updated! new preview - Create an account and get to work documenting NB.

Late announcemant : Lockers are being refreshed Friday♡[edit | edit source]

78% of lockers currently unclaimed. Need to have a functional locker system.

86[edit | edit source]

Some people have felt uncomfortable. He hasn't respected some boundaries. One person has taken an extended leave due to this. Asking them to take an extended break hasn't helped, so that is why this is on here. Person 1 might support asking him to leave for 3-6 months. Person 2 - During a CNC class, a woman was brought to tears by a conversation with him, though we don't have exact details. He concluded that this was very toxic for the space. Person 3 - Serious concerns because he keeps making people uncomfortable. Not sure what his place in NB is. Mediation didn't seem to help. Doesn't feel he is a good steward of the space. Strong opposition to him being a part of NB. He doesn't seem to have any interest in the activities of the space.

Person 4: We have been holding him to a different standard, because of his neuro-divergence/autism. It's not productive, it has not helped. I have repeatedly talked to him about these and other things about using the space. He repeatedly agreed verbally in person, but acted to ignore the requests. He may have limited social perception, but he clearly goes beyond that and itentionally manipulates others.

Tilda objects and Loren and Elan will be responsible for followup discussions with Tilda if necessary.

Meeting ended 9:09pm.
