Julius - we has a mop. It's.... okay. Please use it!

Elle - in sewing, we are likely to get the large coverstitch to show up tomorrow. If people can help get it up the stairs tomorrow afternoon, would be awesome! Lots of sewing group classes coming up this month, be on the lookout!

Excellence[edit | edit source]

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. (On first Tuesdays, seek a few definitions. Other Tuesday, give a 1-3 sentence summary.)

What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence!

Ken - Don't sleep at the space.

Mark - If you feel tired, don't force yourself to not sleep. Go home and take a nap!

Anti-Harassment Policy & Community Standards of Excellence[edit | edit source]

Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) TWO MINUTES MAX More approachable & specific guidelines, https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Community_Standards https://safespace.noisebridge.net/ is one way to quickly raise issues which will be seen by people in Slack.

Brief Kudos[edit | edit source]

Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you.

Jules and Ken for mopping, Jules for helping take trash out Also for julius for giving Hudzah a great intro to the space. Elle Loren, JD Ken, facilities maintainers Elle and Daniel for repping NB at Build IRL To whole bunch of people who came together real quick to make the spacebridge party happen. Caleb for support, Alex for doormanning, LMoos, Julius, Elan, buying stuff at last minute

Guilds[edit | edit source]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")

New Members/Associate Members[edit | edit source]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

Dylan applying for associate, Loren sponsors.

JD - how long you been coming around NB. D:Visited about a year or so ago. Been coming more recently. JD: Have you read the anti-harassment policy and code of conduct? If someone asks you to leave, do you? D: Yeah, there's not problem. I'm familiar with the protocols. Ken: What kind of stuff do you want to contribute to the space? D: I think the primary focus would be infrastructure related things rn. Servers, rack stuff. Ken: Good with electricity? D: Not super familiar, but willing to maybe learn? Elle: can you sew? D: My family had a sewing business as their job.

Mark: NB gives you 5k to spend on any project. What do you build for NB? D: silent pondering... maybe put it towards better server infra and such

(Loren mentions IoT projects by Wyatt.)

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

Income:

   Open Sauce: $341 cash
   17.65 via paypal
tbd via Venmo (requested from current holder)

Operation expenses: $11,342

We have more than $100k in bitcoin CD account with 140k Have 16,800 in checking 6k in savings

What else would ppl like to hear in the report?

Elle: Would like to hear about what a successul fundraiser looks like for NB? Considering one is planned coming up.

For Open Sauce, it looks like we got in maybe 400-600 in donations, but it was a wash because the cost of the party we hosted.

  • Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.
  • Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
  • The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Proposed NB16 Quinceanara Party Budget https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zYd0ym0QuaJ5Hh3iyAMpa9djbt0Nu0Ty3tVwDHaqGM8/edit?usp=sharing

Please bring all comments and ideas to #nb16-quinceanera channel in discord

Woodshop Wall - just over $2k for the wall materials only. Masonry scaffold with platforms, wheels, etc. $1300-1700 to enable us to put it up. We would keep it all for future projects.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if new people are present. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]

discussion item 1[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: General Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: Bayblade

Elle: Benefit for Noisebridge?

H: I want a lot of my friends to come here and experience NB too! I believe a lot of people who would be into this would also be very interested in NB. Could hopefully also help raise funds for the space. Increase in diversity - difft ages, backgrounds, etc...

Is July 19th an good day? What's the general procedure for approval?

Julius: I feel comfortable being sponsor for the event.

Ken: We should really standardize the wording for how we present the donatino option to people.

H:

Alberto: make merch. The 2024 BeyBlade competition at noisebridge.

Embroidery

Ken: want to stress the importance of wording. suggested donation -- $5 to participate. For ones to come, ones to partic

JD: quick questions 1) what does this look like? A couple rings on the floor.

  • Use the stage. Buy or build a stadium style thing.

Julius: asked earlier -- It sounds like they're taking safety engineering pretty seriously.

2) We've had people come in and say they were contributing to the space.

  • venmo @noisebridge
  • donate.noisebridge.net (stripe)
  • PayPal to treasurer@noisebridge.net

Hudzah - in discord

Loren: Mentioning paypal, stripe, venmo. Get those links handy

Hudzah: We don't want to handle any money. We'll use your QR codes, handle it. 300 RSVP on Partiful, est 68% attendance. 180 people.

Cap at 400 RSVPs, 200-250 people.

Mark: event checklist on the wiki

Alberto: Hudzah: we've raised some money from people already

Loren: You've started collecting money. What are anticipated expenses?

H:

  • Base stadium, like $200.
  • Bunch of random little expenses we can't anticipate possibly. Not getting food, though.
  • Friday, July 19th, 2024

discussion item 2[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: JD Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: Table Saw Protocol

JD: We have had more trippings of saw stop recently by person who should know better. Previously I had an understanding with him that he was not to use the saw unless he had a sawstop ready for replacement in his locker. Gonna remind him of this. Or if someone sees him first, please remind him.

Its getting used in fancy, nontraditional ways. Hotrodded. Not hand engagments. Saw is getting torqued. That's what is causing the triggers. Only largest plane of object should be on the table and going through saw. Need better training and adherence to all this.

How to enforce? How to manage access to ensure compliance? Electric lockout?

Elan: All the times I used it, I have used it that way, bc it seemed the right way to use it. Are woodshop safety classes still happening?

JD: I'm available for ad-hoc trainings. Thing is, certain individuals have been trained, but still aren't fully prepared for some of the fancy work they are attempting. Its not basic safety class stuff.

Ken: Maybe I can have JD as a guest safety teacher/ technique teacher on wednesdays?

JD: Would be glad to help.

discussion item 3[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Julius Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: Door access policy

Was thinking having a more comprehensive door access policy. Maybe membership gets you gate AND door. Maybe a fob for gate for members, but also keycodes for certain events at certain times that can be handed out to participants.

= discussion item 4[edit | edit source]

from: Ken topic: 15 minute ATL cooldown period

Ken: asking for policy to be like "first ask people to take a quick ~15mins break before stronger ATL."

Mark: Can you propose language for a consensus item about this for review at next week's meeting?

JD: Let's discuss this at safety council tomorrow evening at 7PM

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!
