Announcements[edit]

  • Jarod: maker faire is may 18th - 20th, 17th is setup, NBs application was setup
  • Simbridge, modular synthesizers, arcade cabinet - NGALAC - https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/NGALAC
  • work on arcade cabinet is usually on Tuesdays and Sundays with project meetings on Friday
  • need content about the Noisebridge Space Program : handouts, brochures, art, video, other content?

Discussion items[edit]

  • roy: changing hours as mentioned last week; I recently got access to earl, but want to check with people first

Philanthropists[edit]

- Augur: philanthropist is someone who wants to become more involved in Noisebridge; recurring donation ($80 usually), closing space responsibilities, have to judge if someone's 30 day access should be renewed, get 24-hour access as long as you're excellent; Members can instantly de-philanthropize someone

Members[edit]

  • Augur: traditionally membership applicant describes membership
  • Lizzie describes consensus, blocking, membership, access token giving, allow new applications for philanthropy and membership
  • Lizzie: I like this space and want to step up my responsibility and engagement as we make decisions about the future of Noisebridge.
  • Augur talks more about membership process.
  • Roy clarifies some points.
  • Membership questions ensue.
  • Lizzie is a member! Quorum of members, such as one may be needed, was Jarrod (@jarrod), Kevin (@bfb), and Darryl (@augur)

Consensus item[edit]

  • We consensed on Augur's consensus proposal:

Modify the safe space policy as follows: Replace the word "member" in the last line with "community participant". The line changes from this:

"People violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the space or the event at the discretion of any Noisebridge member."

to this:

"People violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the space or the event at the discretion of any Noisebridge community participant."

The purpose of this change is to bring the wording of the consensus proposal in line with the original intent of the proposal, from when the notion of "member" was different, and in line with current practice.
