  • WHEN: Friday April 1 Opening Ceremony, Saturday April 2 Hackathon Day, Sunday April 3 Demo Night & Music Show
  • WHERE: Noisebridge Hackerspace at 272 Capp St. San Francisco, CA
  • WHO: Past, present and future Noisebridgers ready to emerge from quarantine and celebrate creativity together.
  • WHAT: We are in the planning phase. We call for proposals to show things and entertain at the gala.

CONFIRMED FOR THE EVENT

Nothing final yet.

IDEAS FOR THE EVENT

Planning Meetings

  • Fundraising team will update the general meeting every Tuesday till it happens asking for input and help if needed
  • Fundraising meeting during Doocratic Thursdays.

Names

  • January Robot? (like a reboot but with more circuits)

Times

When would be good days to do the event?

  • Holidays are coming up so it will likely be something in the new year.
  • It could be somewhere about 10 weeks out or further go give guild projects like Game Camp cohort projects and space improvements time to be ready to show.
  • Valentines: Valentine's Day is on a Monday. We could spend the weekend before hosting our grand opening, showing the love for Noisebridge. -gaardn
  • New Years: We could do a new years party even if its not the main reopening since other commercial events on NYE tend to suck and be expensive.

Activities & Schedule

  • Fundraising Project Planning: Highlight things we're fundraising for like elevator, fume hood, etc.
    • Auctions: Organizer: Pyconaut
  • Brewbridge to make brews for the party.
  • NoiseBarBot: We will serve drinks including possibly Noisebrew and Club Mate.

Proposed activities

There's still time to suggest and plan new activities and performers!

  • Add your ideas here.

Funny auction ideas

  • Auction old toilet with NFT
  • Labor of skilled people willing to donate hours

Food & Beverages

  • Snacks: We will serve chips & salsa and other snacks. Food donations are welcome, contact us if you plan to bring something.

Planning Thoughts

  • Ask Javier or MusicJ about music-related event
  • Ask Victor of Hack Comedy for ideas on running it
  • New version of Barbot, brought most money at 4 previous fundraisers, made $1K+ each time
  • Ask LX (and Mcint) about overall timeline, low resolution - high level planning of weekend of events.

Planning Considerations

  • Safety: Guidelines on distancing, vaccination+ booster requirements, masks, and safe occupancy numbers.
  • Outside: Outside patio area can provide safer area for congregations with open air ventilation, as per many businesses operating street tables.
  • Noise Levels and Hours: Hack Comedy experienced someone telling us to be quiet at one point so we need to keep loud stuff earlier in the day.
  • Sound barrier: A wall of some kind could absorb most of our noise from inside.

Outreach

Plans for promoting the event.

How to volunteer

If you want to volunteer and correspond with the group, it is helpful to put your name next to whatever you're involved with and contact info. The best way to list contact info is to have a Wiki user page with your info on it and put a link to that.

Past Celebrations

We can look back at some of our past events for inspiration on what to keep doing.
