  • Working group updates
 * Spacewalkers: list of properties: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JtjEvI6LkT0ZI19SI5S3mWnn4aZ4JBEgkjyzzF5YI4o/edit#gid=0
 * Corporate (Let's go to Google/Apple/other big companies)
 * Grants team
 * Spacebridge (Noisebridge standalone VR game): no attendees
 * NGALAC (Live streaming Arcade Cabinet group): Building the game cabinet, got the live stream working, donations to come this way
 * Media (videography/photography group): Nathan taught a class today in CNC moldmaking, wanted to video the class but forgot the camera. The mission of the media group is to give exposure of Noisebridge to the public. Act like a hype machine, broadcast what's happening here, get the word out, and we'll get supporters. Probably many supporters out there, but they're just unaware of NB's existence.
 * Landlord Working Group: Trent and three board officers texted Brian yesterday to pick up negotiations again. Hopefully we'll hear back soon. Chinese New Year was an interruption. Hopefully now they'll be ready for business.
   * Kevin′: is there a plan to bring MEDA into the negotiations
   * Trent: Brian was excited that the place has been improved, that the electrical system has been improved.
  • Review accessibility requirements:
 * Matt: NB wants the space to be accessible. It's important that that is understood. So that NB is not at risk. Entryways, aisleways, room to turn around
 * mister_name:
 * Jarrod: any space that we submit modification plans to the city, are required to follow ADA, though they may not enforce it. The more out-of-compliance a building is, the more work we'll have to make it compliant.
 * We want a building that requires as little work as possible.
 * Corey: we need a summary checklist for things to identify (elevators, ramps, user-friendliness issues, bathroom problems, etc). Check them off, submit to slack #nbsp-spacewalkers.
 * Matt: I'll create a checklist of the major points and make it available. Elevator, entryway, ramps, bathrooms.
 * mister_name: let's DIY it
  • Partnerships updates (MEDA visit)
 * MEDA visit
   * Great visit to the space
   * MEDA can help with getting our finances in order to seek loans and lease agreements
   * provided guidance and offer to help with waiver of ENIF (Eastern Neighborhoods Impact Fee) or change application to classify NB as a PDR space. Jarod will follow up.
   * mister_name is meeting with Rafiq from Mission Techies on Wednesday
 * Hillary Ronan Visit
   * Toured the space with an assisstant, ~45m, many questions, awed by the space
   * Discussion of ENIF - to get a waiver NB needs to create a doc to describe what we are providing in the absense of the impact fee to present to the planning dept. HR is supportive of this effort. mister_name will followup with John on the doc creation.
 * SF MADe
   * non-profit interested in keeping fabrication alive in SF - education, outreach, etc.
   * interested in buying a large building to further their mission - education reaching middle/high schoolers and adults.
   * Wide network of doners, could be a fantastic revenue resource
   * Is NB concerned with management of a large space? SF MADe may be able to help. If we collaborate with SF MADe to find a space for both NB + other SF MADe parteners. SF MADe takes an 8% cut for fiscal sponsorship.
   * Is this idea compatible with how NB functions? (SF MADe owns building, NB would rent a part of the property)
       * NB likes it's indepenence, have not figured out the grant proposal writing thing
       * SF MADe helps with Business Development
       * Is there a process to move the converation forward?
   * publish a document publically
   * get more details on what the collaboration would look like
   * working with SF MADe to rent a space would be better than renting from an ordinary landlord
   * as long as NB can operate as we do today (in terms of access), there should be no issue
   * Do we need board officers approval to move the conversation forward?
       * preliminary conversation can proceed without involving board officers
       * needs participation from the community
   * mister_name and cory will set something up
  • Cotenants updates
   * Dany spoke with an org, but they are challenged with doocracy/democracy debate
   * mister_name and ruth have been reaching out to a startup, but have not heard back
   * could use a better discovery process for co-tenants
   * any thoughts on advertising (eg Craigslist) to seek out co-tenants
   * there's benefit in keeping these relations as evolving organically rather than casting a wide net
   * Blake @ Hello Office is also keeping NB in mind as a potential co-tenant
   * We could also reach out to other tenant brokers for help on this
   * brothers interested in opening up a wood working space, no contact info, not a huge priority
   * Ryan Spurlock interested in starting a space
  • Messaging/copy updates
   * was some effort towards improving the patreon page
   * discussion in NB slack channels: #social-media and #fundraising-wg
   * trent, ruth, naomi, patrick, john have access to modify copy on the patreon page
   * tiered donations with a feel-good message atm -- any desire to offer rewards needs a larger dicussion. if you have ideas put them in one of the two channels.
   * Media and video effort should get linked into the Patreon page (e.x. successful YouTube channels with large following then open a Patreon page)
   * Trent will post a message to #general and copy is in #social-media
   * Should we bring paper copy to Maker Faire?
   * Good idea, needs someone to bottomline.
   * Nate/Kevin′: let's fold the Media and Messaging groups together into one.

Discussion Items:

 * Corey: SFMADE
 * mister_name: What is the process for getting a space reviewed, advanced to decisionmaking?
 * Jarrod: what about negotiations with the landlord, how can we reopen that, get Supervisor Ronen involved, and MEDA, and see if that discussion is gonna open up? They seenm like orgs that if the landlord is gonna listen to anybody, it'll be them.
 * mister_name: have we offered more money yet?
   * Trent: we're just starting to talk with the landlord
