In my early 20's, I worked a couple years at Wal*Mart in my smallish town. When I was working the Jewelry counter, I would occasionally get guys staring at me from the Electronics section across the aisle. Most of the time they'd quick turn away and pretend they weren't looking when I'd notice them, but there was one older guy that was pretty creepy and kept right on staring. I made sure I walked out to my car that night with friends, and really the only time I felt the need to.
The Lit Crawl is an annual event where over a hundred readings take place throughout the Mission district. All Lit Crawl events are free and open to the public. This will be the fifth time Noisebridge has participated in the Lit Crawl. More info about Litquake at www.litquake.org
This one happened to a friend while at the aforementioned Wal*Mart one holiday. Our store let us dress up for Halloween, and one of the other girls was dressed up as a pregnant prom queen (she really was pregnant, and her boobs had grown a lot, although she was still smaller than me). She was spilling out of her dress a little, but I'd seen a lot worse. Later that day I saw her and she had been crying and had her coat on. Apparently somebody complained about her outfit and was told to change or cover up. She had to choose the latter, as she had no clothes to change to and no way to get home.
The worst case for me, was at a different job a few years back, where I (still) run the IT department. While I was on vacation, one of my underlings messed something up, then tried to blame me for the mess-up. It was some guy in his early 20's that was smart, but impulsive and experienced. He was a bit like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. Anyhow, I was able to prove to my boss that "Sheldon" not only was the cause of the mistake, but also how he was trying to cover up his mistake. While the boss and were firing him, "Sheldon" yelled at him saying he believed me only because of my boobs. The whole office heard him and we all just went dead silent. I was kindof speechless, but my boss came to my rescue (he was a nice old guy, we all miss him) and took over before things got worse, and in 5 minutes we had him escorted out.
I saw "Sheldon" once, a year after the incident I think? He was working at a burger joint... which one I can't for the life of me remember now. Hot & Now?
Now there's other things that have happened to me over the years, but those are the ones that stick out the most.

Featuring: Janina Glasov, Liz MacDonald, Genevieve Marie, Carri Newhouse, Janice Blaze Rocke, Simon Rogghe, Zarina Zabrisky.

The Beat Within: Voices Behind Bars. Since 1996, The Beat Within has been leading writing and conversation workshops in juvenile and adult correctional facilities. We’ll read some extraordinary recent submissions. Featuring: Chris Crook, Kevin Gentry, Merrissa Hart, David Inocencio, Michael Kroll, Ali Moss, Ciaran O'Donnell.

Cocoa Fly: Let Her Tell It. Celebrating black women's voices, this exciting and diverse group of writers are going to tell it like it is, about being black women in today's society. Featuring: Jenee Darden, Natalie Devora, Lyndsey Ellis, Kelechi Ubozoh, Yodassa Williams.
