Noisebridge has a professional photobooth. It was originally created for the Ordibooth project, which debuted at Maker Fair 2017. The rendering and printing pipeline of the Ordibooth is modular, so it can be used for many purposes. == Specifications == * Dimensions: L x W x H * Lighting: 100W LED panel x 2. x feet by y feet * Camera: 14 megapixel F 2.8 - 5.? ?mm lens * Camera controller: 7in capacitive touch screen fronting raspberry pi 3 B+ with chdkptp remote control software * Power requirements: Camera 4.3V @ .800 amps. Rpi 5V at 1.5 amps. * Output computer: MacMini with Darktable image processing software == Utilities == === Social media avatar pix === Want a #pro facebook, slack or twitter profile pic? Need that AirBnB user to look trustworthy and not like the dirtbag you really are? Noisebridge can help! Simply take a picture and export to a file when it arrives in the Darktable film strip. You probably want to crop and scale the output, since the camera takes pictures that are 4000 x 3000 pixels. === Passport Photos === Valid USA Passport photos can be taken in the booth. The US Department of State maintains strict requirements on the size of the photograph and the dimension constraints for the face. Take four pictures, each one with a slightly different distance from the camera. Use the screen viewfinder as a reference. When the photo arrives on the controlling computer in Darktable, select the ones you want and choose the File On Disk export target from the Darktable tab. Import them into Gimp, set the image size to the size of the paper you wish to print onto. Create 8 guides, creating four 2" by 2" squares. Align your photos into these guides. Print them out with the Epson stylus pro 4880 using the referenced instructions. Use glossy photo paper. Cut the photos with the straight edge table knife in the textile area. Measure the results with a ruler and a plastic cutting mat. Here's an example of a run of passport photos. === Noisebridge University Student ID Cards === Become a card carrying student of the hacker worlds best experiment in anarchism! ID Picture requirements are TBD.
