Alex, have you seen [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_Hero this]?  How much is true? [[User:Frank|Frank]] ([[User talk:Frank|talk]]) 03:30, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

Alex, you amaze me. You designed and implemented a very complex architecture, brick by brick and plank by plank. It seems very tedious and time consuming. You are quite generous with your time.

You would like to empower game users to become game contributors and game programmers. I wish we could empower users of other tools to also become contributors. Computer applications are becoming easier to use, but more difficult to modify or extend. I feel frustrated by my inability to automate my use of applications. Perhaps you have some good ideas.

At Noisebridge I saw to-do lists posted on the wall, but not in the wiki. Perhaps task lists, to-do lists, wish lists, and similar lists could be added the the wiki. I also think we should have a way to better inventory resources. Who is able to help with what? Who is an expert in what areas. Who is interested in helping? You and I have put some of that information on our user pages. It is a start, but Noisebridge could go further.

I hope to see you again soon. Frank (talk) 07:03, 31 December 2015 (UTC)

Alex, I think it is OK to use a project management system. I have used Basecamp, and I assume Trello is as good or better, however task lists are not visible to the community. I suggest a link from the wiki.

I found the paper on the Rise and decline of Wikipedia very interesting. Thank you. I see the same think happening at at both Wikipedia and Noisebridge. They both discourage newcomers. Noisebridge discourages newcomers by:

  • Poor signage on Mission and an unappealing entrance
  • Confusing procedure for getting in
  • Complex rules for conduct
  • Failure to welcome to new confirmed accounts
  • Failure to thank donors

Hacker Dojo has a video monitor at the entrance displaying the days activities. Consider installing such a monitor at the Noisebridge entrance. I could help with such a project.

You can sign your wiki messages by using four tildes ~~~~, and the wiki will do the rest.
