Speaking of: We're having a zine planning meeting for ZiP02 at Noisebridge. For real! Thursday, Feb. 23rd at 9pm. Be there. Talk with us. Let's do this (together).

ZiP02 will come out on April Fool's Day (April 1st), 2012.

Layout

Last time Tony did virtually the entire 60-page layout alone (Max designed one page, and Miloh did the layout for his 8-page feature spread, which was a big help). This time we'd like it to be more collaborative. It would be great for people to design their own pages, more or less. If you haven't worked with an image or layout program before (Scribus, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Gimp, etc), it's a hell of a lot of fun. We think so, anyway, and we're willing to help you learn. Get in touch with us.

Cover Image What will it be? Tony is working on one idea that involves M's Thai/Indian mythology cards (Ramayana) - but that's not set in stone

Format

ZiP01 was folio print on letter (8.5x11)

ZiP02 will be.....? Proposal: quarto print on tabloid (11x17)

We want to experiment with format, style, size, layout until we find something that feels like the official ZiP style. Or maybe there never will be an official ZiP style - it will be constantly evolving, changing, mutating, like memes, like Noisebridge, like life itself.

Here is some info on ways to fold & format zines for print
