[Cyborg] Interesting idea

(cc'd to comment thread on TFA)

one will want a big sensor to get good low light resolution, and also fast
framerate. the ps3 eye webcam fits these criteria and is cheap too, ~$35.
it also boasts IR night vision. why settle for baseline human performance?

connect phone to webcam and vuzix wrap 920 (preferred) or myvu crystal
701. mount webcam pointing sideways (towards the bridge of the nose) and
shoe-goo on a front surface mirror 45 degree angle.

write software to do contrast enhancement. you will want sinusoidal or at
least cubic interpolation, or the sudden change in rate of change of
contrast will be distracting. anguish over arbitrary and functionally
equivalent user interface design decisions that nobody will care about
except for a few trolls on the internet. publish the design specs and code
on github with a GPL license.

i suspect alexis' dad will be disappointed in the resolution and low light
performance, and will stop wearing them because the system is too bulky.
instead, he should hire me to build a highly integrated custom system.
