We're (I'm) planning on dropping a bunch of ethernet jacks in that room,
to the point where having switches there shouldn't be needed. If you'd
like a switch for a lab lan to test with, I can understand that. A bunch
of us are trying really hard to make the network more reliable and part
of this is simplifying things with having less devices (such as
switches) every on the network.

We do have a library, that you built!

I have a plan for all of this, lemmy start a thread on a new table
design I'd like for us to totally steal from Metrix Create Space up in
Seattle.

This sort of stuff can go on tables and on the backs of chairs and on
the floor.

The classrooms should really not host any public computer terminals.
People go in there, plop down and then make it slightly harder for
others to use the room for class specific stuff.

We're (again I'm) planning to mount projectors to the walls, along with
some smaller speakers and all cables run along the walls and dressed
properly.

I'm with you on not leaving anything on the floor. What I'm saying is
let's just keep the classrooms as exactly that. A room with tables and
chairs, lights, power, internet, projector, white boards, that's
_shared_ with multiple groups utilizing it to teach classes and give
presentations, talks, etc.

Jim, I've got a million and one things I want to do for the space, one
of which is designing a new table power and light thing that I'm sort of
stealing from Metrix. Let me start that thread and we can discuss such
things.

But please, it would be awesome if the classrooms turned into a shared
resource again for teaching for all different groups, and not just a
cave for the Linux Users Group or where people camp out at and make it
harder for others to use the space.
