[Noisebridge-discuss] Mediation and conflict avoidance: Would anyone block banning Rob 2.0?

Noisebridge has a continuum of people, ranging from ban-happy to
will-block-every-ban. Often, as a means of compromising between these
extremes, we employ mediation. The goal of mediation is to resolve
problems sufficiently that banning is no longer a popular option.
Often, though, it becomes a mechanism of conflict avoidance. Gee it's
so unpleasant kicking people out, let's just make them jump through
lots of touchy feely hoops and hope they get the picture. What do we
do when people are totally not participating in mediation?
Rob 2.0 has left cooperatively several times when asked to but he has
never shown any signs of basic respect for the consensus about him or
interest in engaging in the mediation process. Would anyone at this
point block banning him?
(cue the trolls)
