That's a hell of a logical leap, Johny. The intervening steps you
would have to take to get there include:

* assuming that Andy and the "NB old-timers" in question share all of
the same perspectives and ideals (probably not);

* assuming that the whole idea of Associate Membership is what's
being taken to task here (it's not);

* assuming a false dichotomy between "let's implement Associate
Membership" and "Noisebridge is completely fine."

The Associate Membership idea wasn't all bad. It just shouldn't have
included a mandatory "expose yourself on the wiki" component.

It's no individual's /fault/, per se -- it's just striking to me how
various ethii (ethoses?) seem to have been forgotten, even by "NB
old-timers".

I mean it's not like a community of hackers couldn't have come up with
a technological solution that honors privacy. It's just that no one
suggested that privacy might be a necessary constraint.

So, maybe you're right, Johny -- a more codified set of ethoses
(ethii) might help Noisebridge retain the right perspectives without
reliance on any particular individuals being around.
