Summary[edit]

A dub rack for easy format conversion of video and audio and digital archiving.

What Will Be Done[edit]

Rack with 16mm, 8mm, dvd, vcr, Blu-ray+rw, DAT tape, turntable, small tv monitor, audio video input/output switcher, a computer for temporary storage/upload of completed digital conversions. A well thought out setup could support two simultaneous dubs

What Areas in the Space Will This Affect[edit]

Unsure of where this would live and not opposed to it being either wheeled or a permanent installation.

Who Will Be Doing It[edit]

Digital Archivists have expressed an interest in this.

Why This Will Be Good[edit]

Dub racks are incredibly useful. Noisebridge could archive it's collection of pre-digital recordings

Why This Will Be Bad[edit]

The parts will be stolen unless a concrete effort is made to "not hack" them.

How Long Will It Take[edit]

Just a matter of acquiring the parts
