Excellence[edit | edit source]
Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other.
(What does that mean? How does the Anti-Harassment Policy fit into this? Are we SURE we know what being Excellent is? This is an important and fundamental conversation at Noisebridge, so let's give it like 120 seconds.)
Participation[edit | edit source]
Everyone at Noisebridge is a participant at Noisebridge.
(What does that mean? How do you get a door key? Access to Slack, Discuss, etc?)
Philanthropists[edit | edit source]
A Philanthropist at Noisebridge has earned enough trust from the community to open and close the space.
(What does that mean? What do we expect from Philanthropists? How do you become one? etc)
Membership Binder [edit | edit source]
Membership in Noisebridge entails community Trust in Consensus.
(What does that mean? What do we expect from Members? How do you become a Member? etc)
Financial Report[edit | edit source]
Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.
- Funds in bank:
- Noisetor (See the bulletpoints at the bottom of http://noisetor.net/finances/#summary):

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]
How's it all going
Consensus[edit | edit source]
Consensus is how the Noisebridge Membership may change how Noisebridge works.
(How does Consensus work? What types of things are good for formal Consensus? What is small-c consensus? What is a "block"?)
Proposals from last week [edit | edit source]
(Add any items which are consensed upon or someone has raised a principle objection for to the Consensus Items History page.)
Proposals for next week [edit | edit source]
(Add any new items for consensus to the Current Consensus Items page.)

Pyconaut- I have a outreach document that was made back in 2019 that might have a few easy to use parts.
here is the ueful section
WHO IS NOISEBRIDGE? We are Noisebridge: a 5200 square-foot community-operated, non-profit hackerspace in San Francisco whose mission is to provide a space for people to learn, play, create, and share. A hacker by common terms - outside of media’s current bias - is someone who redefines the technological utilization of a piece of technology, or modifies the manipulation of that technology, and allows it to go above and beyond the capabilities inherent to the design of that technology. Noisebridge serves as a creative home for hackers from all walks of life who are interested in programming, hardware, crafts, science, robotics, art, and technology.
Open 365 days a year, Noisebridge events, programs and workspace are available for free to anyone who walks through our door. We believe that the way to truly improve our community is to empower everyone to develop their personal skills and use them to collaborate on projects that change the world for the better. For example, we’ve already helped incubate a number of startup endeavors, and we consistently partner with local, state, national, and international groups on many projects. We never put a limit on access to our space, thus we never put a limit on creativity!
Noisebridge is do-ocratically run by everyone. Do-ocracy means if you want to do something, you just do it, but remember to be excellent to others in the process. With no hierarchy, anyone can use the space regardless of being a member or not, and all are welcome as long as they follow our one rule: "Be excellent to each other". For the past decade, this idealistic and inclusive model has proven successful, enabling us to build a vibrant and diverse community. Currently we are 37% POC or non-white, 34% of us make less than $50,000 a year, and 33% are female. We also have a large, and active community of people who identify as LGBTQIAA+.
We provide over 8,760 hours of publicly accessible creative space to local communities annually, including a wide variety of educational community activities; electronics, sewing, wood and metal-working, 3D printing, 3D modeling, virtual reality development, and niche programming language education. We also support writing groups, art installations, music performances, and host community partner events. These activities make Noisebridge a vibrant source of professional inspiration and currency to many communities.
Pyconaut- hope some of this is helpful or can be used.
Dan- looking ffor similar stuff from our bylaws
from noisebridge vision page- https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Noisebridge_Vision Through talks, classes, workshops, collaborative projects, and other activities, we want to encourage research, knowledge exchange, learning, and mentoring in a safe, clean space. We provide educational spaces for teaching practical skills and theory of technology, science, and art. We provide work space, storage, and other resources for projects related to art, science, and technology that will benefit the individual members' personal growth in their fields of interest, encouraging the individual members to share their projects and knowledge for the betterment of society through art, science and technology. We create, learn, and teach, individually and as a group, inviting members of the community in the San Francisco Bay area and the world. We develop, support the development of, and provide resources for the development of free and open source software and hardware for the benefit of society. We promote collaboration across disciplines for the benefit of cultural, charitable, and scientific causes.
TJ- Naomi will probably post a few
Discussion Meetups[edit | edit source]
Meetup Updates
What should we do about classes on the meetup that are not currently happening, or are somewhat seperate from noisebridge right now.
TJ- whiteboarding, gamebridge, python, audio, etc
Could we delete or modify the events
Pyconaut- is there a way to archive meetup events so we do not need to rewrite everything when thhey start back up.
Tiffany- I don't think meetup has any built in tools for archival, copying it to a document seems to be the best option.
TJ- Many of these events are in discords other then the noisebridge one.
Discussion Item[edit | edit source]
Discuss- when would be a good time to have a discuss update meeting
Discussion Item[edit | edit source]
Noisebridge board stuff
Pyconaut- If I can look at the insurance and liability stuff I think I can get the ok from my family to become a board member.
we could have a board information meeting for people who might be interested in joining the board.
And we should hold officer elections again soon, as I thought I heard it is suppost to hapen each year.
Tj- we should announce this to get more intrest and see who will come.
Pyconaut- it is importaint for pprospective Board members and Offiicers to understand the liability they take on (or don't due to insurance) when becoming a part of the noisebridge legal entity.
Action items for this week-
Shortened email for SFMade Pyconaut to talk with bernice about whiteboarding Create event for Discuss admin and sys admin meeting Ask coommunity about board and officer related information session, and maybe Officer elections. Go over noisebridge bylaws.
