None today

  • (elanhr) I want to restart #Spacebridge this summer and hopefully launch a weather balloon. Will put together a meetup for interested peeps early next month. Get in contact
  • TJ - 5MoF is on Thursday!!! Get hyped!

New members/philanthropists[edit | edit source]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a philanthropist or Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

Financial Report[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

TJ: maybe there could be two treasurers or something??

 4:11 PM

...I would like to meet with some people and (ideally) hand off the treasurer responsibility entirely. I know I'm behind on reimbursements, and I've been 100% clocked out from noisebridge lately.

There was a finance working group at one point, and almost all of them exited noisebridge as a result.

Tasks can't be too distributed, or else we run into security issues. Max two people on the bank account I'd say. Also the more distributed, the more confusing it is ('who do I ask', 'who's gonna pay this bill,' etc.)

4:35 I think there needs to be a point person. Both for legal and organizational reasons. And this person needs to understand that it's a multi year job. 4:35 If we have a bunch of "treasurer of the month" type people, it's gonna get really messy.

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

(elanhr) Who has access to the donations DB? I fixed donation page to let ppl donate to specific projects but dont have access to the donations DB. If anyone knows who would have access - need access to add projects to prod page.

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Last week mark put up a consensus item: https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Meeting_Notes_2022_05_10#Big_C_Consensus_Items

TJ: we want to have a mid-point for all the vaccination card stuff. The previous things were all 90-day. This one is permanent.

Monique: you have to fall back on the venue for rules and stuff.

Emily: that's a good point

Monique: we have to follow the facility's rules, not our own (for other things).

Dave: here we want to give people default anonymity.

Monique: how do you inform people?

Dave: you're supposed to ask them.

sophia: we used to care but don't anymore

Emily: a lot of people might have covid and less people with vaxx

dave: i'll try to make a sign today to enforce existing consensus

various discussion we couldn't catch

TJ: we're trying to just keep the old consensus going

Dave: perhaps this is just a slightly different emphasis

TJ: this is why we talk about consensus items

Dave: anything else on this discussion item?

Elan: The issue kept getting brought up that not asking for vax card to ask for anonymity, easy to cover the name when showing vax card.

Sophia: Don't like to go to places and pull out government id

Dave: Some of us don't like our name, and are morally opposed to id.

monique: what if they come several times, are you going to make them show itagain

tj: my reasoning is: if it ain't broke don't fix it. this whole thing was brought up because i followed the existing procedure and filtered out someone who was unvaccinated. in the situation where all the hullabaloo came from, it worked. Does t

Dave: I think a sign will help me remember

Loren: We arrived at a balance point. Is there anything different about now? Same language, extending timeline is fine. 90 days -> permanent. People want to re-visit this, don't know why people can oppose will now when they couldn't before

Dane: We need more visible signage, ask upon tour. Doing healthy practices

Farley: Ask about Ronald situation. Big C consensus or discussion item?

Dave: Only done consensus for 86, just de - Membering.

Dave: Apologies for not paying attention, will stand next to Jitsi. Have something new, say it now.

Discussion[edit | edit source]

Monique wants to host an event[edit | edit source]

Someone in the group asked if there was a space I could do that. They thought space closed. Website is very confusing, so confusing that I just decided what to do. Had to apply and do meetings and such and is very confusing.

Thursday, June 2, in the evening. I'm not the main organizer. Guy named David, works with Avatu, going to find bugs. Founder at Google. Really hacking, so Noisebridge seemed appropriate. Maximum 30 - 40 people. I think OWASP usually buys pizza, don't know for sure. Not as involved anymore. Usually people who would like to be exposed to the space. People with skill sets that might be able to help. Good partnership. It dpeends on how others feel. Not destructive, from DEFCON, etc. *stories about DEFCON being devious souls*

Reference: https://owasp.org/

Dave: We'd love to have you here, just a coupel things:

   - Let poeple in, you're responsible.
   - Best to have a couple Noisebridgers with you

Monte will help them. Most likely to want to compete in team hacking, B side is the most likely

Monique: You can have a CTF, put one together

Monte: Free ticket would be better

Woz: Online announcement and meetup event. Bare essentials. Do something at Noisebridge, tell people what we're about.

Winnie: Put it in the meetup.

Discussion Item 2[edit | edit source]

Trash pickup -- do it on Thursdays

To clear out backlog after events we can request bulk pickup a few times a year. https://www.recology.com/recology-san-francisco/bulky-items/

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

End of Meeting[edit | edit source]

Note taker posts the notes[edit | edit source]

  • Email the meeting summary to Noisebridge Discuss and Noisebridge Announce lists.

  • Edit the Consensus Items History if anything was reached consensus or failed to reach consensus this week.

Fun things to do after[edit | edit source]

  • Do a 10 minute cleanup, bring dishes up stairs and wash them, clean the bathroom
  • Have some beers on the patio
  • Prepare the next weeks' meeting notes
  • Lick the walls. Or just draw on them
  • sing the Hackernationale (this almost never happens)
