Excellence[edit | edit source]
Excellence[edit | edit source]
Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. Excelence is drinking club matetrying to co exist and thrive with people with different ideas of how the space should be used. there is the golden rule, but its more nebulous than that.
we have an anti harrasment policy, and deescalation. We try to hear everyone's thoughts. We use do-ocracy. but these can lead to conflict, especially if people do un excelent things.
Short announcements and events[edit | edit source]

Financial Report[edit | edit source]
Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.
- Funds in bank:
- Noisetor (See the bulletpoints at the bottom of http://noisetor.net/finances/#summary):
- Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
- The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances
Spending Needs[edit | edit source]
Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for. Amp for stage speakers - <$200 Donation? 600 watt amp for speakers - Tamia and Vivian might have some
Spent $75 on a dummy door closer for the front door project
Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]
How's it all going $40 or so in donations August 29 is the next Sunday Streets
Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]
Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if people ask
Consensus Items [edit | edit source]
Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.
Discussion[edit | edit source]
Discussion Item 1[edit | edit source]
Bob's sign question Looking for a keyboard-input marquee sign.
the kitchen sisters is a podcast, todays was about the --- mabuhay gardens, which is an important cultural part of san francisco
mark-Can I get some clarity on where your at and what you need?
bob-There are signs available that have the IR remote input, but I would like to modify one so it can just take a keyboard input instead
elan- if you take one of your signs to circuit hacking mondays, it doesn't sound like the most dificult thing to hack together. I'll help you search the internet after the meeting for such a thing if it already exists
Discussion Item 2[edit | edit source]
proposed robotics meetup
kat- I have a colleague who works on all the open source drone controllers and stuff. We want to work together on a thing. We are looking for space to host an event on the rough order of ~50 people. Looking at after-work hours (6 or 7pm) on Aug 10th or 11th?
TJ - sounds cool, I can be there.
loren- are you asking for exclusive use of some area?
TJ- Do you need AV? kat - projector would be good, although not necessary
kat- is there some where online you can talk?
loren- are you comfortable with discord?
mark- can we use the #event support channel?
TJ- you can contact me im @culteejen on discord
kat- we've been thinking about making this a regular thing but space is such a premium
TJ- I really want to see this happen, contact me
Discussion Item 3[edit | edit source]
music event
(Jul 30th) The New Farm @bayview (a venue) wants to do an ambient music mellow vibes event, going through the NB wiki, we are wondering if you are interested in supporting that, we are looking for a venue. We will donate the procedings. We have a decibel reader. thenewfarmsf is the website, we have a staff and a sound system. July 30th
what is the cutoff time?
mark- its kind of dependant on your member support and who is willing to stay and help you
how many people are generally @ events @ the new farm?
generally 50 ppl @ a time during the new farm?
TJ -context very few people new what was happening, there was a massive mess.
Tea- with the punk show, they tagged the neighbors. with the breakcore show they were extremely loud (110 db)
Leon - explains the recent discussion vis a vis "having a member(s) help with event hosting"
TJ- You are currently doing everything that is required, in terms of coming to the meeting
Mark- thats a big part of it, getting the word out early and getting community input
TJ- are there any hard nos?
mark- not from anybody who is here
Discussion Item 3[edit | edit source]
amplifier- we tested, the speakers need a 600w amplifier
Discussion Item 4[edit | edit source]
editing the template for meeting notes to have associate member instead of philanthropist- small c consensus
Discussion item 5[edit | edit source]
Keeping the space clean and organized
Elan- I want to become more stringent with the parking tickets
LX- I want to have a tray, and a shelf for stacking trays, and if people leave shit they are doing their project tray gets put away My proposal is that we get multiple containers with nametags, and we keep projects in them
TJ there are two things that contribute to messiness, projects that are out and filling up the table.
2 things that contribute to mess - 1 is pojects laid out for being worked on then simply not put back. 2 - things that have enetered the space that arent used at all and are just taking up space
its very evident in the upper floor that if the table is too cluttered, people dont clean up.
Elan- do we have a parking ticket template available on the wiki?
Mark - yes https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/File:NB_ParkingTicket.pdf
Asha - cleaning guild possibly?
Mark - let's talk about that at Metaguild meeting
Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]
Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!
End of Meeting[edit | edit source]
