Introductions[edit | edit source]

Loren - try to come to the meetings and keep them short, want to help improve the space, and I'm into neurotech Mark - do videogame stuff primarily. Also want to improve the space: does organization/secretarial stuff in that regard. Matthew - first time at nb, found via Discord. Interested in learning soldering, getting oriented to the space Matt - coming here for 8 years, discovered NB via stumbleupon, looking to attain excellence and attain in a reasonable way. Chris - part of NB since 2009, just dropping in. HB - set up cool stuff for BBS. status page on HB's server.

Excellence[edit | edit source]

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other.

Excellence means using the space in a way that doesn't interfere with the use of the space by others. Do what you want in the space, don't intereferene

Respect the space and other people. Everyone is busy, but being patient with others is important. Being helpful and generous. Contributing what you can.

An example, cleaning up a workbench, more that what you used. Giving a tour, so people know about the space, what goes on here, how to make an excellent use of the space.

Lots of people around, coming from lots of places, not imposing.

See wiki page on "Excellence"

Short announcements and events[edit | edit source]

  • 60-second description per item in bulletpoint.
  • Copy-paste any pre-announcements for the upcoming meeting from Announcements.
  • After announcements, copy them to the past Announcements list. Retire any from the Next Meeting list that aren't marked ONGOING.
  • BBS Updates from HB: New domain is here to stay. Feature requests are open for the new year. Main Telnet address noisebridgebbs.com:8888 Moebius Server address noisebridgebbs.com:8000 Noisechatter address noisebridgebbs.com:3000 BBS Status Page http://noisebridgebbs.com:3001/status/1337 Most of these shouldn't change for a long time, but I may set a reverse proxy for noisechatter at some point. Thanks for using the bbs this year. Please encourage others to do the same. (edited)
  • Chris on Woodshop: Two tables in the back of the dirty shop have been being used as workbenches and they should not be.
  • Dana: Two epic donations for CHM/hardware hacking. Few dozen Arduinos and other microcontrollers. All around the space. Go wild, hack stuff, make the space cooler! In drawer labeled Arduino Unos in upstairs electronics room, some sensors and stuff in white shelves downstairs. A special thank you and shoutout to Noah G. for last night's microcontroller/sensors/hardware donation. Someone named David will be dropping off the second donation (TY to Emeline for facilitating this one!).

Guilds[edit | edit source]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")
  • Do any guilds have any announcements they'd like to make?

New Members/Associate Members[edit | edit source]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

No new applicants today

Financial Report[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

No cash box update for this week.

Need to get PG&E paid immediately

Might pay taxes on time this year!!

To post: funds, cash flow.

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

CC TV on front gate. Camera? More like old space. Deferred.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if people ask. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

No Consensus items today

Discussion[edit | edit source]

Discussion Item 1[edit | edit source]

Start thinking about NB15. Ramp up planning. Let's meet. Let's [volunteer] what we [individually] might offer.

Discussion Item 2[edit | edit source]

NB holiday gathering. - posted in Discord. Potluck!

Discussion Item 3[edit | edit source]

HB cool self-hosted server for monitoring. - https://github.com/louislam/uptime-kuma Loren - also netdata!

Discussion Item 4[edit | edit source]

Conflict resolution with Matt.

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

End of Meeting[edit | edit source]

Note taker posts the notes[edit | edit source]

  • Clean and tidy the meeting notes including removing all these really verbose instructions.

  • Copy paste the notes to the next meeting page. (They will become Last meeting at midnight.)
  • Email the meeting summary to Noisebridge Discuss and Noisebridge Announce lists.
  • CC on the email treasurer@noisebridge.net and secretary@noisebridge.net if there are new members and philanthropists.
  • Edit the Current Consensus Items if anything is proposed for consensus next week.
  • Edit the Consensus Items History if anything was reached consensus or failed to reach consensus this week.

Fun things to do after[edit | edit source]

  • Do a 10 minute cleanup, bring dishes up stairs and wash them, clean the bathroom
  • Have some beers on the patio
  • Prepare the next weeks' meeting notes
  • Lick the walls. Or just draw on them
  • sing the Hackernationale (this almost never happens)
