Short announcements and events[edit | edit source]

Noisebridge still is looking for creative, interactive projects for our Makerfaire booth. See #makerfaire channel in Discord!

Excellence[edit | edit source]

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. (On first Tuesdays, seek a few definitions. Other Tuesday, give a 1-3 sentence summary.)

Corey - It is the most hooman thing you could do. If you need to do something, ask yourself, "how is this excellent for Noisebridge and it's people?"

Mark - a truly self-propelled definition. Another definition would be "don't be a dick and share the space wisely.

What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence!

Anti-Harassment Policy & Community Standards of Excellence[edit | edit source]

Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) TWO MINUTES MAX More approachable & specific guidelines, https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Community_Standards

Brief Kudos[edit | edit source]

Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you.

Kudos to Corey for offering to help move junk and shit!

Kudos to Btingle for diligently working on the CNC machine and making cool stuff with it! And for giving great tours!

Guilds[edit | edit source]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")

Guilds are like interest groups at Noisebridge. Usually a small group of ppl with a common interest in maintaining shared resources and hosting events and stuff.

New Members/Associate Members[edit | edit source]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

(Mark explains the Membership program and the two tiers)

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

Spent: 14111.45 Income: 9153.14

  • Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.
  • Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
  • The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

nah

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

Reminder: Sewing Group brings in about $100 a week, by charging for classes.

I think we also ask a small fee for woodshop and Laser training.

To be clear though, we do not turn anyone away due to lack.

Still want to heat check if we have the will to organize a Halloween party? Any ideas?

Maybe a Noisebridge comedy night again, and time it for Halloween-ish?

Last Thursday was Electronic music. Maybe we should talk to them?

NB15? Just putting that out there.

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if people ask. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Conensus blocking requirement, Week 2.

Does anyone block?

No.

Discussion[edit | edit source]

Discussion Item 1[edit | edit source]

Junk Run

When does Corey want to do a Junk run?

I feel like we need to restart the counter?

But we have a ton of stuff that's ready to go?

How does September 20th sound?

Are there any areas that have yet to be cleaned and organized, that need specific attention?

Mark - yes. and so much so that the attention they need will not be given to them, so we will take care of them as much as we can.

Lets do a cleaning session. Friday afternoon/evening. Will message discord.

Corey - Ask everyone also if anyone can help w/ loading and unloading on Wedsnesday the 20th!

Discussion Item 2[edit | edit source]

Spend a few minutes checking / activating #makerfaire activity in discord

Corey wants to help. Is willing to help haul stuff to Vallejo.

Corey - are we taking arcade?

Mark - nah. But they want very interactive stuff!

Some of the most successful maker faire projects have been interactive! Who remembers the Emperor Norton Bot?

Maybe we should reach out to individual guilds/ meetup organizers to see if they want to bring any thing of theirs to the booth.

Mark - maybe we could bring back VR Bridge!

Let's discuss in the makerfaire channel somethings we have some

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

End of Meeting[edit | edit source]
