Excellence[edit | edit source]

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. (On first Tuesdays, seek a few definitions. Other Tuesday, give a 1-3 sentence summary.)

What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence!

Anti-Harassment Policy & Community Standards of Excellence[edit | edit source]

Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) TWO MINUTES MAX More approachable & specific guidelines, https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Community_Standards https://safespace.noisebridge.net/ is one way to quickly raise issues which will be seen by people in Slack.

Brief Kudos[edit | edit source]

Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you.

Wheezy - kudos to my boys Sam and Wyatt because I broke that roll up gate and they fixed it! Super appreciative of their help.

Brandon - kudos to cleanup crew! Place has been looking great :)

Sam - Collin, you come here, fill up your car with limbolandia, and say "sorry, I wish I had more room"

Kudos to Ben for being a good leader of the music space. ...there there little one..??

Loren - kudos to people working on RFID, extending to other uses. Takes a team to build, and it's motivational to have people volunteering, lets go.

Guilds[edit | edit source]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")

Music Guild - people here have been helping out w/ cleaning up and organizing the Music space!

New Members/Associate Members[edit | edit source]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

  • Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.
  • Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
  • The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if new people are present. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]

Discussion Item 0[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Masha Seeking decision/outcome/advice: advice? outcome? On topic: My band, looking for space

Our friend Mateo brought us here, we want to utilize the place more, we were thinking we could sort of take over certain things in the music space after Ben is no longer around.. (a few months from now?)

We also want to get more of a handle on what kinds of processes to follow to be more integrated in the community. Membership, etc...

Masha and her band are in the process of updating the music room. They are happy to take on the help of maintaining the space. They are really taking up the DO-ocracy.

if you feel like NB has been generous to you than be generous to NB.

Loren discusses how the space work and what it means to be a member. Having enough social integration is one of the non-default requirements.

Create ventilation plan for Music room prior to painting.

Discussion Item .5[edit | edit source]

Brandon is looking to start a freecodecamp type event.

Loren - lets get you set up on meetup!

Sam - I created this thing at noisebridge.today for tracking what's all going on in Noisebridge on a day-to-day basis

Discussion Item 3[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Loren Seeking decision/outcome/advice: outcome On topic:Loren's magical mystery discussion item

Wanted to have a ort of "deconstructed discussion forum". Get a sense of what peoples' priorities are/ most important questions/advice are for the community. Will send out a form this week asking people what they think about the space and community, in a very "meta" sense.

Sam - what kind of insight are you looking for?

Loren - getting people insight into what other people who use the space might think are important/priorities - increasing our shared understandings of eachother and how we utilize this space/community. Want more space to know about what other people do. More promotion of cross-communication.

Brandon - is there some kind of "show and tell" aspect?

Loren - idk, but the big thing i want to do is have more people feel permission to start doing things and more easily find the people they can start coordinating with/ doing stuff with. A sort of abstract guidance tool.

Discussion Item 1[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Mark Seeking decision/outcome/advice: outcome On topic: Space usage - Music Room/ Other rooms

Ben - context: Maths meetup happened, they moved stuff in the music room, but didn't clean up after themselves. I felt it wasn't very excellent.

Wheezy - next time they come, I'll make sure they take their lightbulbs w/ them!

Damir - quick question: me and my group just kind of "come here a lot" but we sometimes wonder how much we should plan and announce it.

Various ppl - not really necessary for the scale of what you're doing

Mark - main point is: I think we all agree, but I'm just checking - that when using a space for any random activity, unless it is for a specifically pre-listed event, one ought to defer to ppl arbitrarily coming to use said space for its intended use. (e.g. using the music room, one ought to give preference to those who want to come in and use it for music, in the event of a usage conflict)

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github (OLD/unused), from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

 - see physical white board on first floor
