Excellence[edit | edit source]

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. (On first Tuesdays, seek a few definitions. Other Tuesday, give a 1-3 sentence summary.)

What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence! Julius: leaving the space in a way better than when you came in Henry: general consideration for others Michal: leading by example; if you are going to do something make sure you are doing it right, and be willing to teach others. Jo: when I am here I am very productive. There is also how creative the space feels. This is the place where you are able to become productive, creative, and excellent.

Anti-Harassment Policy & Community Standards of Excellence[edit | edit source]

Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) TWO MINUTES MAX More approachable & specific guidelines, https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Community_Standards https://safespace.noisebridge.net/ is one way to quickly raise issues which will be seen by people in Slack. Amy: could we add language on ageism in there? (in other words dont call me young lady)

Brief Kudos[edit | edit source]

Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you. Julius: kudos to amy for speaking up Amy: kudos to do-ocracy

Guilds[edit | edit source]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")

New Members/Associate Members[edit | edit source]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions. Sam: My sponsor is jake. I sent the appliction back online. Moof: Nobody here is able to handle that, Moof:

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

  • Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.
  • Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
  • The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if new people are present. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items Julius: Capital M members have a veto for big C consensus items, where they can delay it for a week. It allows people some time to discuss things.

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]

(discussion item) 1: Lights[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Henry Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic:

Henry: Im kind of new to nosebridge, so I dont really understand how this would work (in terms of budget, etc). These lights are very harsh, and they are an ugly color temperature. I thought it would be nice to have a number of big spheres that hang from the ceiling, and we could put warm bulbs in them. The glass globes I originally wanted are kind of expensive. There are cheaper options: paper lannterns

Julius: it makes sense, ultimately I am not the ultimate decider. Depending on what you are trying to do, its quite useful to have a harsh, white light. It might also be kind of hard to convince people.

Cloud: I have passed the lighting project onto henry, because3 I never got it done

Julius: do you know what the situation with the election is? JD: My understanding is that the board election is still being organized. Along those lines, our treasurer is new to the postion and overwhelmed. There are also some big ticket items( handicap access for the frontdoor, and the woodshop partition)

Julius: who is the interim treasurer?

JD: its loren. Theres a whole story, but the meeting is not the place for this.

Amy: how is the electricity paid for?

Amy: Are you familiar with builders resource in bayview? they might do deals, and they might want to get rid of stuff. There is also craigslist, or demolition companies.

Julius:

JD: the fact that the upstairs hallway is dark is a safety concern

Henry: I have a motion sensor I was going to give to electronics recycling.

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

End of Meeting[edit | edit source]

  • Have some beers on the patio
  • Prepare the next weeks' meeting notes
  • Lick the walls. Or just draw on them
  • sing the Hackernationale (this almost never happens)
