Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

-March- Total Revenue: 6527.73 Expenses: 13,986.96 (some incidental, some back-paying garbage bills a few months)

-April- Total Revenue: 5,060 (500 less in stripe, 550 less in paypal, patreon back to former levels) Expenses: 12,057

Spending Needs

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Gotta pay a fire inspector to come re-up our extinguishers and such

Gonna need to pay a fair amount of out pocket for the door upgrade

Fundraising Update

How's it all going

Two Stellar Foundation grants going in this week. We have to have deliverables within a month of the grant, which is supposed to start next week in theory. Gonna be hard to come up with a "deliverable" in such a time possibly?

Stellar wants us to run Rust classes with the addition that we show people that they can build apps on their platform with said programming language.

Deliverable is something like a class that runs for a period of time (6 weeks?) and we'd need to hold it a certain amount of times per week. Need to submit a list of students as well.

Party Grant - deliverable would be a party - much easier to do!

HUMANMADE went through a bad thing. Ppl are looking to us on discord to do something nice to humanmade, passionately, we might add. Looking for suggestions on how to be nice to them.

Maybe fundraising for them, maybe throwing a party specifically for them, invite those folks here for it then give them all money raised!

Deliverable (stage 1): 20-25 students. presenting a proposal for a class hosted here 3 times per week, for 6 to 8 weeks, no more than 2 hours per class, paid teacher, expert in Rust. Grant (1st), needs to have a deliverable. 20-25 students signed up for first class. Could pay for another space. Assume students are paying

Stage 2: not written yet, higher amount, (would/could be: make classes free). Some students have taken the Rust + Soroban class (Stellar).

As non-profit, we can rent Japan Town square, for <$1k. SF parks -- has a list of cheap venues for non-profits to host.

General feeling that there are some possible potential slander-type issues at play. People in certain other groups are talking about noisebridge/its people and preventing otherwise excellent ppl from engaging with NB in a positive way, thus harming noisebridge.

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!
