Brief Kudos

Kudos to Brian in his latest ongoign effort in organizing the electronics room. To Ken for helping with maintenance things r.e. leaks Mark - also to Julius for helping in the electronics Kudos to ppl who went and repped at Makerfaire! (There is a makerfaire video. Brian has the link)

New Members/Associate Members

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

Revenue - $5337 minus 2100 from last month. 500 more in paypal, 2000 less in benevity. Probably have Venmo money unnaccounted for, but I don't see it yet, so not sure how much.

Expenses - 13200 overall

Want make pretty graphs to show to people.

"The Drawing Room" art gallery space had a drawing event last friday (I think its fridays 5-8 or 5-10?), with live band and food. Want to see our space used in some similar such way. One off hacking events, maybe once a month?

(Perhaps this could be like part of the "new member happy hour"?)

Spending Needs

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Ethan suggests something like making ppl pay 1-2$ a month. Mark suggests that is bad and ought to be a discussion topic.

Has noisebridge's youtube channel listed itself as a 501c3 (tax deductibles)?

Thinking about ways writers group can collab with other groups on projects. Some recent stuff has happened in the world.

Thinking we should have a "counter-programming" brainstorming meeting. We could talk about radical absurdity, meme-making, poetry slams, flash mobs. Fun event with food and such I hope! Need hackers engaged in the efforts to help keep people safe and whatnot.

Thinking ike a potluck, maybe a thursday?

Mark- fridays and saturdays are chill nights at Noisebridge. Maybe it could be a series and you could theme each one?

Josh - have you ever heard of the awesome foundation? They give microgrants.

Judy - maybe not money right away, but maybe down the road potentially. First session will be a trial run and brainstorm.

Mark - post about the idea in Noisebridge discord!

Elle - guilds could plug into the effort! Sewing for banners, printing t-shirts, bags, etc. Electronics can put together cool light up and display devices, etc

Proposal: Close to 6-8 weeks the woodshop has been "closed". Many have asked me what the status is and whether they can use various things, etc...

Can we give it a cleaning so people can walk in and out again and use it more effectively in the interim before we actually build.

Mark suggest building notification be broadcast in discord ahead of time, then otherwise the shop could be open. Put signs up only when work is happening.

Suggest talking to the wall-building crew to arrange for "shop is closed" sign(s) to be down when shop is not effectively closed.

Laser Training 2-4 Shop Training 2-4 NanoWriMo 4-6 Sewing Class 11-1 Spacebridge 5-8

NanWriMo has to used the upstairs hackitorium room, bumping spacebridge to downstairs. Wants to move to music room but room lacks collab space righ now.

Hackathon is sunday all day. Expected ~20 ppl Will inform them at start of event not to interrupt but to pls participate in the various trainings/meetups as part of their projects

Friday cleanup day is time to make sure all those upstairs rooms aand the shop are clean and usable

Sewing Guild will ty to have a rep in the space during hackathon to help with entry into room and use of materials.
