Excellence[edit | edit source]

Brief Kudos[edit | edit source]

Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you.

  • Kudos to: the whole electric room cleanup crew. Brian! Mark, Josh. and the music room squad.
  • Kudos to John for a great first tour of the space for Asia
  • Kudos to Ethan for hosting a hackathon here. And Moof, helping to host a hackathon, all day on Sunday.

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other.

What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence!

Anti-Harassment Policy & Community Standards of Excellence[edit | edit source]

Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) More approachable & specific guidelines, https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Community_Standards https://safespace.noisebridge.net/ is one way to quickly raise issues which will be seen by people in Slack.

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if new people are present. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item or can be reserved for the discussion section of the meeting.

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]

It is recommended to post items for discussion ahead of time at https://pad.riseup.net/p/nbmeeting. (Check that the template for the meeting is in place already, and that last week's notes have been moved to the wiki, of course)

Item prompts should follow the format: From/Raised by: [your name here] Seeking [decision/outcome/advice/something else] On topic: [topic]

1: Thanksgiving[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Elle Seeking outcome, plan: potluck on the day of thanksgiving, spreadsheet for who is bringing what type of item

Google Sheet -- for Discord -- #event-forum -- ##thanksgiving plan (posting in Lu.ma & Meetup --

  • On* Thanksgiving. To support community. Those apart from family, and

Part of effort on Health @ Noisebridge, started by Elle & Nasrami (sp?)

  • More coordination on Discord
  • Post events on luma and meetup
  • Link to gSheet for plans
  • Also plan volunteers to help with clean up.

2: Fundraiser email* for end of year[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Elle Seeking early plans -- timing is close (start of plans?)

Posted today. Committed Loren & Mark.

Talked about, quick brainstorming at last Tuesday's meeting. Ideas. End of year fundraising. 501(c)(3)

We want help to keep our doors open for people out into the future. remind those who might donate that we have provided a valued space for hackers in the mission, how our space helps bring multiple disciplines together to create presteige projects. Fundraiser concept: we work together to make a batch of works that is discrete enough (not one big thing) that could be sold to people in the community

  • Prestige projects, like FT or NoiseTable.
  • Could lesser prestige projects.

globakl fundraiser email in December, proposal to focus more on guilds than membership

  • New member happy hour --

announcing the membership concept at the new and old member happy hour (?) ideally aiming for having one in December - plan: lets get the new people who are here to work on planning a December new member happy hour:

      • link to the group thread here:__________________

3: electronics web index -- update/maintenance/reskin[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Daniel Seeking [decision/outcome/advice/something else]

Electronics room catalog improvement. gh:noisebridge/infrastruture site software is deployed from the github, database is there, prob has the right parts even if the locations have changed. Loren proposes that the wiki needs additional resources, login server (brony?), Daniel proposes cloning the database, doing his mods, and redeploying vcd (thank goodness they are writing this in their own words)

4: woodshop wall update[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Blue Seeking assistance with loading and unloading Saturday morning 11/23

The good news is: - we're closer to building it than ever before Bad news: - we need to exchange (return, buy) other lengths of wood. We bought 12-ft boards, We have 13-ft ceilings. (J has 50 -- 2x4s -- uh, or not).

  • Scaffolding is available for borrowing.
  • Laser range finder(s) available --

Have drywall. (We can't put it up until inspections)

Habitat for Humanity reuse center -- accepts all sorts of things. We can donate spare, if we can't return. We could ask them for materials as well.

14-ft'ers are niche, wouldn't count on them lying around.

(Yard open 7:30 - noon. Help Saturday morning, e.g. 9am, help unloading truck. Have to move 60 2x4s 60 ft ea.)

VERDICT: PLEASE HELP US OUT WITH LOADING THE WOOD ON TO KEN'S TRUCK FOR EXCHANGE ON FRIDAY EVENING! BE A FRIEND AND JOIN THE CAUSE TY <3

I don't want people to act annoyed when I tell them I'm building a wall in there. (BLUE/KEN) would ask that people not to use the table saw, router, or mitre saw for the sake of us not doing any major projects while we are building the wall.

On Saturday, everything that's behind the FT needs to find a home (not in woodshop).

Issue of use of power tools, in woodshop[edit | edit source]

Long-standing concerns.

  • Need to replace tools
  • Conflict with each new person, who asked him to use tools more safely.
  • Asked to not use power tools, and to not use woodshop until we could resolve more.
    • Due to safety of others, passing by or using the woodshop
    • Has continued to use power tools, in the woodshop
  • Seeking a mediator, primarily for communication.
  • Only visit the space when planned in advance with the mediator. With the mediator present. (We can't reach him via Discord, we can't reach him via email. He can sometiems reach others with his phone).

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

(What do you hope to do for noisebridge, in the next day? or week?)

  • Loren: help someone get the elec. parts storage happening
  • Mark: hosting GAMES programming & board games meetup.
  • Ron: working on getting CNC to move. Get the woodshop wall top-plate up (only thing we need the scaffolding for)
  • Asia: get a tour! maybe help on Friday with wood loading
  • Blue: Build the wall!! Recursing -- clarifying tools, passably ok.
  • Prateek:

  • Prepare the next weeks' meeting notes
