Excellence[edit | edit source]

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. (On first Tuesdays, seek a few definitions. Other Tuesday, give a 1-3 sentence summary.)

Leave the space better than you found it, make it a more welcoming community.

  • Noticed downstairs hackitorium is unusually clean. Kudos to
  • Kudos to whoever hosted the cool robotix meetup yesterday!
  • Kudoes to old/new member (Mina?) in sewing & woodshop -- hosted classes -- goal this year to spend more time in the woodshop
  • Nick did a great embroidery class -- someone looked online as far away as New Orleans -- we were one of few places teaching, other than manufacturers.
  • Ken -- keeping sewing room table clean after work, maybe others!

What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence!

Anti-Harassment Policy & Community Standards of Excellence[edit | edit source]

Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) TWO MINUTES MAX More approachable & specific guidelines, https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Community_Standards https://safespace.noisebridge.net/ is one way to quickly raise issues which will be seen by people in Slack.

Brief Kudos[edit | edit source]

Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you.

(done in excellence section)

Guilds[edit | edit source]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")

Membership & Associate Membership

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

  • Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.
  • Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
  • The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if new people are present. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]

Template... [num]: [topic-short][edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On Topic:

Early NB'ers -- Event Proposal[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Shannon Lee Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: Looking into planning an event

Another early Noisebridger passed away in August, Hefe (sp). Hoping to have an event pre-fireboat, firing ashes into the bay.

March 8th, Sat, midday. Afternoon or early evening.

(Will set out in a boat at dusk, smaller group.)

Heph, HiMyNameIsThor handle / irc.

Mark added event on Wiki main page to secure time slot. More details will follow

(discussion item) 2: [topic][edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Elan Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: Shutting down our Slack

  • Slack is shutting down our permanent free access to archives.
    • Needed an invite -- required talking to someone in person, ask someone to ask an admin for account approval.
  • (Discourse, IRC, ...)
  • Loren -- has made a public export of slack channels
  • 1 yr ago, consensus to move discussion off of slack
  • Some discussions & activity is still there
    • #Laser maintainers (private) -- #rack discussion.
    • Bots:
  • deprecation notice. @everyone message -- let's compose.
  • Signal -- now supports usernames only

(discussion item) 2: [topic][edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Elle Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: Pie

Build -- in real life -- BuildIRL is part of that ecosystem.

A group in Chicago has pitched BuildIRL to use their platform called PIE that looks like Luma Meetup, etc... to pay people who are throwing free events for every RSVP that pops up on their platform for that event.

So, if NB were throwing something, like say infra meeting, but sent all Meetup folks to this platform (Pie), conceivably, NB could get $10 per head for people who attend.
