Excellence[edit | edit source]
Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. (On first Tuesdays, seek a few definitions. Other Tuesday, give a 1-3 sentence summary.)
What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence!
Anti-Harassment Policy & Community Standards of Excellence[edit | edit source]
Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) TWO MINUTES MAX More approachable & specific guidelines, https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Community_Standards https://safespace.noisebridge.net/ is one way to quickly raise issues which will be seen by people in Slack.
Brief Kudos[edit | edit source]
Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you.
To Jules -- for showing around new curious members.
Taking out the Trash, taking ownership, stewardship. Kevin on Monday, Sergio, coming back to.
Eric -- showing jules how to use the bamboo, easiest 3d printing I've ever done
Guilds[edit | edit source]
- What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")
What are guilds? Science has yet to discover
New Members/Associate Members[edit | edit source]
What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.
Jamison - associate member application - Loren is sponsor. Circling back once form is complete
Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit | edit source]
Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo. Loren - sent out some reimbursements. Starting to track those on the reimbursments post on the finance forum on discord. $2000 for new filters for the laser cutter. 200-300 to Ken for wood shop wall lumber. Made a post about internal balance transfers. The reason I'm going into this much detail is to solicit interest from folks who want to be involved in finance. DM me (mcint) or post in finance forum $118,000 in cash on hand. Transferred enough for rent (auto pays 10k at the end of the month). We can be updating the wiki with financial statments. Would love help with that. There is an account on coinbase. We are setting up shared custody.
- Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.
- Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
- The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances
Spending Needs[edit | edit source]
Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.
- Build plate in Bamboo -- deep scratches -- no adhesion. Talk in #3d-printing in discord.
Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]
How's it all going
Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]
Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if new people are present. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items
Consensus Items [edit | edit source]
Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]
D1: Writer's workshop -- annual workshop at NB[edit | edit source]
From/Raised by: Judy Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic:Writer's Workshop wants to do their annual workshop at Noisebridge Friday June 6th. We will put out a table at the front and ask for money. If folks want to come and work during that time it's totally ok but there will be a strongly suggested donation. We will need quiet downstairs during that time (no wood shop etc).
D2: Arena Magazine -- 3rd issue, launch event?[edit | edit source]
From/Raised by: Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic:Arena Magazine wants to debut their third issue mid/late February 22nd Saturday at 7-10 PM. We would like the whole space. Aiming for 100 people. There will be a bar.
Arena - celebrating the new. Championing civilization, technology, and capitalism.
Julius - Let's make an event support topic and solicit more members to help organize
Judy - Check meetup to make sure
JD - points out we are not permitted as a nighttime entertainment venue and considering that we are currently in permit review before the planning and zoning commission with a noise complaint from the neighbors, it is recommended that proper permits for the event are obtained.
D3: Makerhacks[edit | edit source]
From/Raised by: Elan Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: Makerhacks Feb 1st/2nd
Phanikrishna - first ever highschool maker hackathon Feb 1st/2nd at 45 Fremont Street. The venue doesn't allow 3d printers for security reasons. We want to set up some printers at NB during the event.
Julius - who will be at NB running the printers?
P -
Conclusion: if there are people at NB who would be willing to supervise the 3D printers there's space to put them (hackatorium has space), though so far nobody from NB has stepped up to the task.
D4: Hack Club Scrapyard[edit | edit source]
From/Raised by: Walter, Ajith Seeking: advice/[?] On topic: Hack Club is running an event called Scrapyard from Mar 15-16, would Noisebridge be a good place to host it?
Nonprofit org across the world. Coding clubs for highschoolers. CS, tech, make stuff. They run events. Large scale, simultaneous. Scrapyard
March 15th-16th. Interest in this space in particular due to open nature and availability of equipment, parts, etc.
Problem: liability for teenagers who attend, handling legal responsability and behavior - Hack Club has all attendees and parents fill out liability waivers before they can participate, maybe that can integrate w/ Noisebridge - The Scrapyard team can also bring in responsible adults and team members to supervise - Mark has helped organize/hosted(?) an event similar to Scrapyard in the past w/ high school participants, maybe we can figure something out with his prior experience
Problem: community participation, age restriction - Noisebridge users will be able to build in tandem w/ (and mentor) Srapyard attendees, though won't be able to submit to Hack Club HQ for global ranking and prizes - Will need to check in with Hack Club HQ for all the details
Problem: equipment that requires prior training or authorization (ex: laser cutter, sewing room) - Can be easily locked off from attendee usage - Maybe trained Noisebridge users can use the laser cutter or other dangerous equipment on behalf of attendees?
D5: Aj 86/atl?[edit | edit source]
From/Raised by: Julius Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: AJ 86/atl
86-ing AJ who threw eggs at Noisebridge and was asked to clean it up but refused
Wheezy asked Eric for help getting AJ to leave. More concerning was that he came in and left with a big bag of stuff. It is possible that he is removing noisbridge property from the space.
We will discuss further on discord. In the meantime, AJ has been formally asked to leave pending final action.

D6: mischa 86[edit | edit source]
From/Raised by: Julius Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: Proposing 86 for Mischa
Mischa was observed being negligent/abusive towards two dogs in the space. He let them poop and urinate on the floors and was resistant to cleaning up after them. He was also observed sleeping in the space, and reacted with hostility when he was told that this was not allowed. He continued to escalate on the discord until he was timed-out.
He has engaged in misleading communication with members of noisebridge and seems to consider his relationship with the community to be primarily extractive. For these reasons, it seems unlikely that mediation will lead to positive outcomes.
D7: Charlenne atl[edit | edit source]
From/Raised by: Elle Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic: Charlenne atl
Has streamed to sexually explicit cam sites from noisebridge repeatedly, in such a way that other people in the space were caught in the background. Disregarding the type of content, this violates the principle of asking for consent for recording people at noisebridge. In particular, members may not want to be associated with particular types of content.
Associate membership: Jameson[edit | edit source]
Sponsor by Loren

Long-time participant, now looking to use more and give back more.
No one objects! Welcome new member!
Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]
Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!

- Have some beers on the patio
- Prepare the next weeks' meeting notes
- Lick the walls. Or just draw on them
- sing the Hackernationale (this almost never happens)
