Meeting Summary

TL;DR: what happened:

   In person, a lot of visitors from a hackerspace in New York hackerish space, Boshi's Place, in Jitsi a more locals then physically at the space. The single topic that took up the most time was talking about the lack of updated on the 86 page, and then discussing threats to sue (lol). Otherwise quick coverage of ideas like standardizerd cleanup stations, recaps of new member party / book release party, etc. etc. Cloud also wanted to be sure people knew 5mof was happening Thurday and she'd really like it if someone would take over.

Short announcements and events

• Zacchae, event Saturday 4p to 7p, recording a presentation, unsure how many people will be here, will have a sign up letting people know it may be recorded. Talk is about building decentralized systems to help people organize; how do you intelligently fund the creation of software? If you can solve that you've solved a lot for building Free Culture. Will be on the stage near the laser cutter. Can likely fit the actual presentation in between laser uses.
• Zach, gamedev meetup for Godot users, Saturday 2p to 6p meetup area or in the electronics room
• Elle, new member happy hour / book launch went great, Judy from the writers group was there, lots of former Noisebridge members, more than 10 people who have been around 10+ years, hoping we do it again. The book being launched was "Common Circuits"
• Cloud, 5mof is happening exactly this Thursday, around 8p. If you have something to share for 5 minutes please do so, or if you just want to watch the spectable. Also good practice for public presentation, or if you just have something you're interested in talking about

Spacebridge launch (with SF-HAB and Meshtastic group) on the 29th of this month(more details to come). Well also be meeting up this Saturday to hash out radio stuff. A lot of fun, come out and check it out and have fun! see Discord for info.

Elle: Luis(sp?), who is a former member, arranged the whole booklaunch as a fundraiser for Noisebridge, LIz was here, Judy was here, all were great to work with putting together that whole event We-z: Daniel serving kiwi wine. takes care of access control.

Zoning & Permitting Standing Item

Read aloud in meeting, or variant: "Noisebridge is under threat by San Francisco bureaucracy. The exact nature of that threat has not been fully determined, but discussions with the city are ongoing, and lobbying may become necessary. If anyone who is attending the meeting this week has a close connection to Jackie Fielder or other officials, please speak now so that we can connect you to the working group."

JD; Zoning department has gotten back to use about our standing as an organization being suitable for staying in this space. Basically we made it. The letter:

I’m following up regarding my land use determination for Noisebridge’s operations at 272 Capp Street, which has been a challenging process given the unique aspects of the organization. But after touring the facility and considering all the information provided, I’ve determined that the most appropriate designation is Light Manufacturing for the primary use, with an understanding that the instructional lessons, etc., are an accessory/related activity. Light Manufacturing falls within the category of “PDR” and is principally permitted in the UMU Zoning District. I copied Moses Corrette on this email, as he is the staff that has worked on the related over-the-counter permit.

We haven't yet put A.J. on the list yet even though he was a clear 86, Charlene isn't on there next...are we actually 86'ing people? Are we unsure of the process to actually put them on the page? Tony? Justin? Loren: Do you have a Wiki account We-z: I don't have an account, am unsure how to get one Loren: click "get an account" on the wiki Elle: you might need additional access JD: Good news is we have a good picture for these people Elle: How's the project going for having the pictures up front? It would nice to have that. How can I support this? Charlene once again took up a lot of peoples time and if we stop these people at the door it might be easier to handle them. We-z: I've put in my request for an account, assuming I'm approved I'll take on updating the 86 page, let these dorks try to sue me. Elle: Charlene told me that since people got caught in the background of her chatterbate session she got banned from them as well, so...everyone is fed up with her.

Do-ocratic Task Board

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!
