Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you.

LX: Hosting the Godot meetup on Saturday(s) last 2 weeks!

Elle: JD has been super excellent in dealing with electrical and paperwork BS!

JD: Noah who's been doing CHM!

WE-Z: To Daniel for laser-cutting a wonderful frame for our industrial fan.

And to other Daniel for bringing awesome kiwi wine to new member happy hour!
And to Elle and Judy for helping run that event!

Zoning & Permitting Standing Item[edit | edit source]

Status this week? Helpful broad asks to the community? NB city bureaucracy WG -- JD & Alice, among others.

Couple of impromptu inspections (sort-of) happened. Some inspectors came by upon *someone's* request. Posted some notices on our doors.

In reply to a question to Rick, the electrician about contacting Scot, the electrical inspector (not the guy coming tomorrow): I sent you an email.

I did talk to him this morning. He understands what we are trying to Do, and the reason for the delay in progress being due to plan check.

I told him I would reach out once we are closer to pulling the permit, and also that we might jump the gun and do some work Prior to the permit, but that I would make sure to add it to the permit so that he lays eyes on it and it gets signed off

after the inspection this afternoon:That went better than expected. He looked at the wall. He looked at the plans that are making their way to his department. He was informed we were attempting to clear a previous violation. He then decided he could just amend that violation and not have to issue a new one, which would have had zero fine.

Long to short: we can carry on as we were doing, and practically everything is the space got unplugged. Oh, and we hired an electrician and bought a bunch of exit signs.

We may need to redo the front fence under permit.

Guilds[edit | edit source]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")

New Members/Associate Members[edit | edit source]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

  • Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.
  • Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
  • The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

We've identified 3 possible grants, but grants ppl havent met on them yet. Probably going to have a fundraising meeting on the 30th, but might be pushed back to following week.

One grants references the awning out front.

Another for spacebridge, related to "teaching classes" about radio stuff

What's the eleigibility and deadline for the grant(s)?

Elle: I'll try to post that info on discord later. #fundraising

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if new people are present. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]

Template... [num]: [topic-short][edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?] On topic:

== (discussion item) 1: [topic] ==sell 4 Ender 3D printers to @rugyoga From/Raised by:jd Seeking: decision/outcome/advice/[?]decision (2nd week) On topic:

Guy has been mantaining and upgrading these Ender 3 3D printers. They are pretty much now obsolete. They are 1st gen printers. Our newere ones are 2nd gen.

These things take up valuable space.

Guy has offered to purchase these printers from NB at $100 per printer.

We have had a bunch of other 3D printers "donated" here that we probably don't want.

Discussion item 1.5[edit | edit source]

What to do with antiques and old books?

3 or 4 typewriters (Josh will take any unwanted vintage and / or antique hardware, especially 8 bit era stuff)

What should be here vs shouldn't?

Fun of having old stuff is dwarved by the problem of how much space these things take..

LX: Excited about Limbolandia. I propose a song about Limbolandia that we should sing when bringing it up at meetings. Feel free to edit.

(discussion item) 2: [topic][edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Mark Seeking: decision/outcome/advice all the above On topic: Guild's Right to Refuse

JD: If there's one thing NB has taught me, its to learn how to let some stuff slide. Lots of crazy stuff happening around here.

When it comes to others bringing stuff in to the space to hack on it, or if they feel comfortable setting up a tool with the intent of operating it and training others on it, that seems fine. I dont' think any one of us has the right to say to another NBer that they can't do soemthing liek that on the grounds that it is "not safe" or whatever reason.

Elle: I think you got wrong information about the sewing machine situation that occured that spurred this. Guy brought in a machine, who wasn't really an expert. He just did some cursory research on the web. Anyway, he wanted to donate machine to sewing, but we already had 3 industrial machines up there in the room, that DID have the safety feature of the controversial machine in question.

The problem was: we didn't need the machine, it was trying to be shoehorned into sewing. Sewing was trying to be made to have responsibility for it. They were asking for sewing to take it over, and sewing said "no".

Conversation was frustrating bc person trying to donate said machine, it felt we were talking past eachother. The machine was partially blocking the yellow brick road while it was being contended. So it seems that there wasn't enough space for it anywhere anyway.

Corey: I'm of the opinion that we should cut early and cut often.

Josh: Something about the discussion makes me think a more constructive way to frame it is that we get consensus before accepting things. Then no authority is vested in anyone in particular. Much more Noisebridge way of doing things. Good practicings of anarchism.

End of Meeting[edit | edit source]
