Mark- Secretary of Noisebridge. Tries to organize the chaos that is Noisebridge. I don't know why.
Marcin - from poland, hackerspace pomerania (hsp.sh) visiting SF for 3 weeks

John Henry - Moved to SF a year ago. Should have come sooner. Did first robotics and RC Planes in HS. Do a bit of everything but welding is my forte.

Amelia - Moved here recently. Interested in sewing and welding. Definitely want to get the MIG running. Used to be a shop tech at Cal Poly SLO. Love to help maintain the space and help work on projects.
Julius - I do stuff with the Spacebridge group here! We've been doing high altitude balloon launches!

Maari - musician from NYC - I make like 3 songs a day, been around since about October

artist name: 00maari

Andrew - Moved here about 2 years ago. Here for cybersecurity career path switching from Ad-tech. Decided to stop putting ads on people's phones and help people secure their stuff. Blue team.
Sam - I was here first in 2021 I think after the move. Went here for a few months, had to go back to Seattle. Now I'm back in the city. I was thinking about sewing some stuff. I was also using therapy and I had some experiences I want to share. I want to do a five minute presentation.
Cody Kinsey - In town visiting from LA/Montana. (Nullspace Labs) We make ethical hacker content. Go to cons and teach soldering etc. Finally free of my dayjob so I've been talking a lot of shit at the RSA conference. Really want to run a class or hold something to get people together. Wifi hacking self-defence. If you're open to that. Here until the 2nd.
Felix - also here for RSA. Do event organization. Traditional artist - paint, illustration etc.
Judy - my first meeting. Am from NY. Been in silicon valley a few months. in healthcare and law, but i want to learn cybersec stuff!

Excellence[edit | edit source]

Our One Rule is to Be Excellent to Each Other. (On first Tuesdays, seek a few definitions. Other Tuesday, give a 1-3 sentence summary.)

Don't be an ass.

Don't bother people who don't want to be bothered. *Do* bother people who do.

What does that mean? Please see our page on excellence https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Excellence!

Anti-Harassment Policy & Community Standards of Excellence[edit | edit source]

Noisebridge has an Anti-Harassment Policy https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Anti-Harassment_Policy Everyone is expected to follow the Anti-Harassment Policy, please familiarize yourself with it.) More approachable & specific guidelines, https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Community_Standards https://safespace.noisebridge.net/ is one way to quickly raise issues which will be seen by people in Slack.

Brief Kudos[edit | edit source]

Recent examples of excellent behavior, say 3, unless the passion moves you.

Nic's - for setting up the DTG printer!

Mark/Julius for running the meeting

Whichever kind soul stocked our snacks and drinks

Whoever has been taking out the trash on Monday.

Zoning, Permitting, & Improvements -- Standing Item[edit | edit source]

Status this week? Helpful broad asks to the community? NB city bureaucracy WG -- JD & Alice, among others.

No new news. 4 prongs. Woodshop wall (status: on-going), ADA front door (status: ~ gate / done), electrician - lights, switches, & power outlets (status: not started), Fence, city may have height, visibility, & engineering requests (status: not started).

There will be a 1300 permitting fee plus contractor fee that will be invoiced to us. Waiting for that to happen.

The fence is not built to permit so that is something that may have to happen. Elle mentioned city grants that involve improving the street appearance of the space. We would not be able to apply for that until we pull permits for the work. If we use city money, we have to find a prevailing wage contractor to do the work (like what happened with the front door). We may have to lower our 8 foot fence too for visiblity into the building. Possibly related to wind as well.

Guilds[edit | edit source]

  • What are guilds - briefly describe (much like the previous section on "Excellence")

New Members/Associate Members[edit | edit source]

What are they? Is anyone trying to become a Member or Associate Member? If not move on. No long discussions.

No applications right now. Maari is interested in applying for Associate.

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

  • Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.
  • Any other details by those participating in handling our financials
  • The latest financial reports from the treasurer are available at https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Finances

Spending Needs[edit | edit source]

Gotta spend money on XYZ (i.e. Gate, wiring etc.). WHO CAN SIGN THE CHECK OR LEND THE CREDIT CARD!?!?! It doesn't matter if we agree to do something and it can’t be paid for.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

How's it all going

  • Don't need money, but for noisebridge. Elan: k8s running for base project for startups.
  • @skicka, . Does anyone run a Mesh-tastic node here? Community garden. Crowdsourced donations to run any of the nodes. Librarian nodes: wanted.

cyberpony express. https://multiverse.school

  • AI/ML group?

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Nobody likes 3 hour meetings, only explain if new people are present. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Current_Consensus_Items

Nope

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Only for talking about Big C consensus items, small c consensus items should be discussed with people at the space at the time of the change/new item.

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]

Discussion Item 0:[edit | edit source]

From/Raised by: Daniel Seeking: approval On topic: Large board game group meetup

I have a very large group of people who play a specific game each week (Blood on the Clocktower). We have a space that can handle 30 people. I have been told that NB can legally handle 49. We would be using the entire space except the wood shop, 3d printing room, and sewing room. It's a social deduction game. Anyone who comes in and wants to participate can join. Memorial day weekend.

First preference Friday the 23rd - 7pm to late late night/early am Second preference Sunday the 25th Third preference Saturday the 24th

Loren: Using the whole space can be tough. Setting aside some particular spaces within the space is maybe more desirable. And leaving some space(s) for regulars somewhere.

JD - are you intending to use amplified music? Alcohol?

No to both.

Charging admission?

Taking donations and asking for fees, but won't turn anyone away.

Any money to be collected for Noisebridge specifically?

Daniel: I could manage the money as I will be the hosting Member. happy to help NB out, I don't want them to get the short end of the stick. Could ensure NB gets some, even if from my personal funds in case it somehow doesnt get through to NB from other people.

Elle: cleaning the bathrooms/kitchens. We should have an arrangement with you all to do that. When the space is crowded, folks who are coming in anyway end up displacing into sewing and eating there etc. Also, will people be able to use machines like the laser cutter/3d printer during the event.

Daniel: It's normal for some equipment to not be able to be used during events. But we also aren't planning to use the 3d printer room...Planning to charge about $10, and food comes out of that.

We should try to give them an asnwer soon, otherwise they may more aggressively pursue another space.

JD: city is also dead on Memorial Day weekend so it might be a good time to do something like that.

End of Meeting[edit | edit source]
