1: Noisebridge funding artists?[edit | edit source]

On topic Tamogachi Income Display
From/Raised by Daniel
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Kavia: Could we start small?

MisterName: This w

JD: suggesting offer artist percentige of profits

Elan: Suggesting arist self promots within the art

Daniel (web): Does not approve of elon suggestion

2: Resources for AI[edit | edit source]

On topic Chatbot issues
From/Raised by Elan
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Elan ; Folks coming to noisebridge ith gradiose ideas from LLMS Is the person a danger to themselves or others?

Elan: No, they are not a saftey issue, People creating pythong programs to talk to to other dimensions, faster-than-light-travel.

Heather: The person in question said some discriminatory things that were not related to this but they also seem to go through this on top of it.

Zacchae: Mover to another room, but not everyone eants to do that,. We want people to come here and not be afraid of social interactions

Kevin: This has been happening for years, We used get the same thing for cryto, smart contracts.....disengauge , build up boundries, the location we are in draws a wide crowd.

Jet: NB has had many passionate people come through the doors, We want everyone to remain exellent, I'm assuming this is coming up becasue the converstions are becoming inccesent or annoying, if someone is coming to you and sitrubing you , you hve the right to ask them to stop and be pushy about not interactiiong with you...if someone if being mean or dangerous, you can ask them to leave. Someone will back you up in the building.

Elan: How do you talk someone down from these delusions of grandeur? I found https://www.thehumanlineproject.org/about-us which seems to be focused on these sorts of things.

Jet: Remeber the ask to leave policy, Excepecially if someone is talking crazy shit about inappropriate topics.

3: Knitting Machine Updates[edit | edit source]

On topic Knitting Machine
From/Raised by Michael Newman
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Kavya: Hasn't been around as much as they would have liked to be. I'm alarmed people want to get rid of it. Drynn is currently working on it but they can only make it to Noisebridge irregularly due to personal reasons. They are in contact with the manufacturer

Newman: Many people want to keep it - we have the space. I'm happy to help move it

Kavia: Whomst has the authority to say when someone should be removed?

Jet: history time -- Knitting machine was delived to NB 5 yrs ago, brought by Dana+Emeline? 5-6 K spent to bring it here, since then it was used a little bit, Someone what documented, community memeber thats headed it, left NB, doesnt not want anything to do with NB. They are at sequia Fabrica, they left because of various reseason (SAM).... We have a list of eveytime weve tried to gert rid of it, 2024 -every six monthes it get resurgence, When you hear alot of people who want to get rid of the machine , its those who watch it degrade and see noone steward it.

Kevin: The machine is in a diff language, but the one at sequia fab is in english.

not sure if we can

Heather:

Daniel(web): We have a sopace emerging in the bay area that wants it and is willing to pay us...

JD: I USED A FORKLIFT TO GET IT OFF THE TRUCK AND ILL DO IT AGAIN TO GET RID OF IT

Michael Newman:

Elan: I've put stickers on $10k+ of broken equipment on stuff on the first floor that isnt getting used / broken, I think it fair to have this a general rule that we need to use the items in space or get rid of them.

Jet:

LX: I agree we want to ramp up the usability of the space for better events. There's a whole bunch of things we can do to increase the max size of our events, frequency and quality. One of the things is to clear the space out. Make it better organized.

Jet: I might have to cut you off. We want to keep this close to the knitting machine specifically.

LX: The goal with regards to the knitting machine etc. There's a whole bunch of things where we dont' even know what it is. With the knitting machine that's not really the case. I like what Elan is doing, inventorying. I'm trying to create a system to track this stuff electronically. We can basically bag an tag everything in the space to figure out what has real users.

Kavia: My biggest objection for being given an ultimatum is the machine feels like it's being singled out. I feel like the sewing and other related guilds are being treated worse because they are traditionally female activities.

Elan (joking): omitted

LX: People need to be a regualr user of machines and classes to keep them relavent in the space,

4: Open Sauce[edit | edit source]

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!
