Meeting Summary[edit | edit source]

  • Fundraising Update: None reported this meeting.
  • Announcements:
    • Two people found asleep on the couch (~4:40am) — see Discussion #1
    • LAN/DNS change, with a question about blocking adult sites
    • Knitting Guild asking everyone to scan its QR code
    • Open Sauce (July 17–19) booth recruiting participants.
  • Finances: Checking $38,100 · Savings $48,700 · 48 Apple shares. Monthly deficit down to ~25% (from ~60%); stronger reserves open the door to a building fund and larger projects (e.g. ~$25k accessibility spend). Latest reports: Finances.
  • New Core members: Newman and Heather — both accepted (sponsors not recorded in minutes).
  • New access members: None recorded.
  • Consensus Items: None.
  • Discussion Items:
    • People sleeping on couch (Heather) — three ~19-yr-olds let in by Marci, intoxicated, slept overnight; Victor took responsibility. Outcome leaned toward warning over expulsion, asking Marci to take time off, and more "no sleeping" signage; no ATL. Underage-drinking concern flagged.
    • Knitting Guild (Jet) — machine cleaned and now knitting reliably with Drynn's help; further cleaning help wanted (~13th/14th); scan the QR code.
    • Clunky equipment purge (Elan) — ~$30–40k of underused gear stickered for possible donation; some felt the process was hostile / unclear on tools vs. materials; Elan to bring items to a vote in September.
    • Brave space (Caitlin) — raised repeated interpersonal/boundary-violation issues; referred to stewards and the Discord brave space channel.
    • Downstairs fountain (Chaz) — $500 already allocated; volunteers raised hands; action is to spin up a facilities/project channel rather than re-litigate at meetings.
    • Event request (Ryan) — mutual-aid skill share, Aug 1–2 evening, Hackatorium, 10–49 people, no amplified music, no special equipment.
    • Open Sauce planning (Jet) — July 17–19, 8'×16' booth; debate over bringing the Flaschentaschen vs. building a more portable one; org meeting TBD.
    • Consumption at Noisebridge (null) — concern about habitual alcohol/cannabis use and pushing drinks on others; distinguished habitual use from controlled events; LX posted draft Safety policy language (no high-risk machines while intoxicated, no under-21 drinking). Takeaway: no alcohol in the fridge or on the patio, store only for events, be more intentional.

New Members/Access Members[edit | edit source]

Core membership requests from Kavya (Nth? week, sponsored by Jet) and Chaz (1st week, sponsored by LX)

Newman and Heather finish becoming Core Members and get interrogated

Newman: I just moved here 8 mos ago from NYC, found this place probably the only thing in SF I really like. I'd like to be able to sponsor new members and make the space better.

Jet's question #1: who are ya and what are you doing here? jet's Question #2 "If you were running a campaign to run for politician, what would you run on?"

Newman: You gotta clean up this town. Scrub the unexcellence from the table.

(Naomi: big NYC energy from Newman)

Heather: repatriated to US from Asia + Oceania, figured we'd swing by NB and it's been feeling pretty good. we're here in the mornings often, quite excellent morning folks like Jeremy i'd like to be able to sponsor who y'all don't know!

Heather: my platform would be more hours in the morning. better than bus factor of 1 or 2. Keep the space running properly

Newman: where do you see yourself in 10years

Heather: somewhere between SF, Taiwan, Montréal. Volunteered at SF Zoo in high school. Volunteering on Wednesday at a soup kitchen. Rescue raptors. When in Malaysia we regularly attended Japanese English language exchange.

Null: how would you handle a situation w/ new hours, fewer ppl, someone who's 86'd shows up, they're here and shouldn't be inside the space.

Heather: depends on who it is... if they're not actively belligerent but not cooperating, might wait for someone else to show up, ping someone on Discord. if physically aggressive, might potentially call the cops... not ideal, but. We have ATL'd someone who was too stoned to communicate, grateful for the backup we got.

Chris: What does personally vouching for someone at NB mean to you?

Heather: Guiding new access memebers the right way, Keeping the community .l

Jet: same q to michael?

Newman: means taking responsibility for that person, their behavior, b/c they get to unlock the space whenever.

Jet: would you feel comfortable vetoing someone if you don't feel confident in them?

Newman, Heather: yes

Spirit animals?

Heather: probably fox, raven (we'd use a different term tho)

Newman: a lobster. I'm from Massachusettes.

Jet: are you being OK somewhat legally affiliated w/ NB b/c you have board voting rights now

Both: yes

  • Newman & Heather exit stage right*
  • Lots of very difficult deliberation ensues....*

Both are accepted as core members!!!!!

Financial Report (first Tuesday of month only)[edit | edit source]

Anarchist societies under a capitalist state need money to survive and thrive, yo.

Checking: 38100 Savings: 48700 Shares: 17 Apple

We're doing better and better month after month in terms of our deficit -- we have a 25% deficit instead of a 60% deficit. Having better finances means we can consider things likea. building fund, do more wild things w/ this space. e.g. spend $25k on accessibility stuff.

[moar outlets!!!]

(Loren: ordered some)

  • Monthly revenue, expenses. Big projects. Big fundraising events. Reserves in bank.

Fundraising Update[edit | edit source]

Big C Consensus Items[edit | edit source]

Consensus Items [edit | edit source]

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]

1: People sleeping on couch[edit | edit source]

On topic People sleeping on couch
From/Raised by Heather
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Heather: came in unusually early this morning, like 4:30am, noticed the space was semi-open, then discovered 2 ppl sleeping on the couch, blanket pulled over them. Woke them up. Later discussion, 1 person acknowledged they knew someone was there, sounded like there was explicit permission from that person. Pretty sure we wake them and escalate further. Or at the very least warn them.

Kevin: The person who it seemed to arroved them, Are they a memeber. Jet: Who was this member

Victor: it was 3 19 yr olds, got here at 10 or 11 via Marci, were walking around talking to themselves, drunk. I've been here until 3am the last few days in a row, was hanging out w/ them at the table. Someone in the music room too. we played cards until the wee hours. They lived a mile or something away down the road... the girl was sleeping from 1-3 during the card game and then on and off. Eventually they just went to the couch and they said they'd leave by 6am. So this is all on me.

Wheezy: so, Marci -- that's the person

Kevin: were you aware of our rule?

Victor: yes...

Kevin: so why was that OK for you to do?

Victor : I dont actually know, it didnt seem significant.

Heather:(Refereing to victor) i think you often take teh role of the adult in the space, that's a place where that failed entirely.

Victor: i don't even remember their first name. i don't know if they'll be back or anything. didn;t realize the gravity of the situation until just now.

Loren: I left here around 130 last night, there were other people, i decided to walk aorun, peoploe. were playing cards... Big risk of people not following our rules, I dont want people to socially engineer the space.

Jet: who was the access member when you left?

Loren: Joseph and michael were in sewing

Elan: timeline was like 11-midnight, Marci let in some folks, asked if they'd been given a tour, told Marci they needed to givet hem a tour. Josphe was the member who was around when i left, no one was asleep.

Erin: i was just going to ask if there was an access member, sounds like yes and makes sense why they wouldn't have seen the sleeping.

Heather: the timestamp on our photo says 4:43

W/Z :

Jet: so you took a pic of ppl on the couch? do you know what their names are?

Heather: yes. No, don't know their names, but could identify them.

Kevin: if it comes to talking w/ them we should find out if they're aware of the rule and whether they'd had knowledgable culpability

Elan : They did get a tour.

Null: this is a reminder for me to say No Sleeping when i give a tour.

Michael: has anyone seen them other than this time?

Victor: one of them said they'd been here a few years ago

Newman: Daniel (web) mentions that he says the 3 (4?) rules, no sleeping, no pics w/o consent, etc

Heather: had seen the three previously, they'd been in the space earlier... until Elan said they needed to get the tour. Unclear if they were warned about sleeping in the space.

Jet: Any more questions -- and what should we do about this

Kavya: i feel like if this is their first time then we consider that other ppl have been given warnings before expulsion in the past

Wheezy: Treat people hove been coming here for a while, Ive caught people sleeping here , What we should do is give them fair warning The real person needing to be told is marcy that this is not a motel for friends I dont think we need to ask anyone to leave, noone needs to be ATL'd

Elon: Give them a warning, Tell marcy to take some time off and you shouldnt let people sleep here, NB has had problems in the past with the exisiting rules being bent for extended times and then it becomes the norm.

CHaz : Should we code sleeping reprecussions? warning, write ups?

Loren: In practice, half a dozen or a dozen people tell someone not to sleep. They each struggle with the question individually. In practice, it is staged, and warnings. Trying to be stricter would mean databases, no go

Null: Balance around consumption we should talk about. Consumption of alchohol and such.

Erin: should we mabye put some signage about no sleeping and WHY it's a big deal? We should have a reference available for why we take this so seriously.

Null: perhaps as a mea culpa, ppl who let in unexcellent ppl perhaps should be the ones to make the signage.

Alex: Last person who talked about signs is on the money. There is a sign somewhere. Linked in chat. If we want to i feel like we don't want to say its a legal problem because we don't want people to lie about it. I propose we put it up in every room.

[Alex shows the sign that does exist. Null finds it and points it out, it's near the Killer Queen cabinet.]

Jet: We could always use more signage

Loren: Reasoning for this is along the lines of resisting privatizing the commons, this is a private use that makes other ppl feel less welcome to bring ppl and share w/ friends. it's a sustainability of community issue.

Elon: I do think Marcy Should be Asked to leave for a month or two, particularly the underage drinking thing -- I'm having flashbacks to teenagers getting stoned in the music room in the Sam Green era. We cannot have that reputation.

Heather: I recall peoples napping in ther music room

Chris: Apart fromn comsuming substabces that these minors were not alllowed to have, We should not have minors on the premise without a supervisor:

Naomi: We dont even have mining equipment

Jet: they're not minors, but they're not old enough to drink.

Chris: is it worth it to NB to allow underage ppl to be here w/ alcohol

Null: i don't think anyone's asserting that

Jet: We will host parties with bartenders who...

Alex: we have an official policy on the wiki, kids need to be supervised by parents, guardians, etc. we have dangerous stuff here. if you see kids roaming around by themselves you should ask them who they're with.

Naomi: I think the issue of people being a certain age is besides the point. This is more about who you think is responsible you invite into noisebridge and do you feel responsible for who you bring into noisebridge. Even if they were 50 years old, this is unacceptable behavior and we need to put the focus back on culpability of ppl who allowed this to happen.

Victor: i had 3 followup questions, like maybe we should stop doing tours at a certain time

Jet: OK i'm gonna cut this now,

2: Knitting Guild[edit | edit source]

On topic Knitting Guild
From/Raised by Jet, etc
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Jet: Need a check in on the knitting Mchine

  • CHEERS*

Zacchae: we got a Drynn! Look at the QR Code! it's cool! you need hands to help scrub?

Loren: in temrs of NB's ability, what can we now do?

Drynn: we need to clean by removing all of the needles, using alcohol to remove oil and dust. we're using sewing oil and i'm not sure we want to be useing that, the recommended thing is GUN OIL b/c all of the pieces are smaller.

Heather: addendum to that, there's a pinned msg in the channel detailing some of the cleaning request, so check there.

Erin: Loren, your question was about capabilities? Drynn knows more about it than i do, from what i've seen today we can now reliably knit stuff w/o yarn breaks. one of the big blockers over the years was that it was difficult to prevent breaks, now we know how to make the rollers work to prevent those. Drynn seems to have experience making and producing pattersn. in general, lots more ability to diagnose problems w/ knits. earlier this afternoon, Drynn was able to see some loose yarn in the top of the knit and know that this means the yarn take-up needed to be increased. We've gained some repair knowledge. had a damaged needle during a knit today and had to replace that during the knit, now we can do that. i'm starting to incorporate that info into the wiki page.

Wheezy: I know the owner of imagiKNIT and we can get an offer on this machine.

Chaz: i can help clean, how about the 13th or 14th?

Drynn: using the machine is a lot like 3d printing 10 years ago, requires a lot of oversight, but most interesting is making patterns + designs. i really love working on knitting stuff so if you want to make stuff let me know, Heather wanted fingerless gloves for example. PLEASE SCAN THE QR CODE!

3: Clunky Equipement Purge[edit | edit source]

On topic Clunky Equipement Purge
From/Raised by Elan
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Elan: I put stickers on $30-40k on equipment around the space that is at risk of being purged. The knitting machine is one. The Thermotron is another. The thermo vacuum

Heather: i have seen 4 stickers.

Null: this is a common thing at Goodwill,

Naomi: what's the accountability process here

Elan: if something doesn't get used by a certain date it goes away

Erin: if i come in after some amount of time and some things aren't here, then

Drynn: it's a treasure hunt! find the stickers

Elan: yes... exactly

Alex: i want to work on the digital version of that for Noisebins

Chaz: i wanna loop in the Noisebins too

Kavya: If nobody is looking at or caring about this thing then heres this sticker saying this will be donated and if no one notices that then sic is should be donated

erin: I'm finding this is sort of a hostile mind game, things being rearranged and removed like this. like if i come back to the space and there are no guitars here then it makes me less interested in coming back to the space.

Loren: If this concludes with being announced at 2 meetings in a row or 4 meetings in a row... its fine to collect evidence.

Elan: aside from one item, these things have never worked before. was thinking of this as similar to the locker thing, like "you must break this seal to demonstrate this locker is in use".

Erin: i think that locker thing is fine and reasonable...

Newman: kind of comes back to the DNH tag, ideally this system protects stuff you're working on

Zacchae: i see what you mean about it feeling hostile, but ppl here have a million prpoject. someone brought in 4G LTE antennas and at first i was like "omg that's awesome" but we're battling against the limited space and limited atteniton and time.

Null: Idont think anyione is proposing removing an item that is cherished

Erin: sounded like we were talking about tools, e.g. the lathe, the knitting machine, those computers over there. when i walk around in the space, feels like there's a fuzzy distinction between materials and tools. For tools i would assume there's some kind of discussion before they're removed.

Kevin: I thinkk mostly this has all been addressed, You gave the example for the electric guitairs, The knitting machine has been threatened, Do you have any other examples, Is there a better way to communicate the ownership if items in the space

Elan : The idea is that i would bring up the items in september for a discussion

Kevin: This is do ocracy, in that sometimes tools and machines are moved / removed bc the people who know those things best have made decisions about them

Jet: Theres blue stickers on large items that are taking up alot of space, Elon?

Elan: people will notice these items with the tags, They are not hidden

4: brave space disscusion[edit | edit source]

On topic brave space disscusion
From/Raised by Caitlin
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Caitlin: been going to NB for past 3 years, 9 months more often, have had to block 3 ppl either b/c they misread my intentions or got attached way too fast, started asking me to manage their emotions + reactions and i had ppl lash out at me for not responding to messages the way they wanted me too. Was just married to a person who was exteremyl controlling. to go through that and then to deal w/ that and having to deal w/ the the same behavior here... it's just not what i expected from this community.

Chaz: i read your bravespace thread, someone in there was a man and spoke from a masculine perspective "what can i do about that" and that's to talk to men and say something to them along those lines

Elon: I havent read the converstion

Michael: is there bravespace context everyone needs here?

Jet: Theres a channel on discord for more senative topics called bravespace

[How do to this: type /rank brave on Discord --nthmost]

Michael: we don't want anyone in the space to have to feel like this, so have these ppl been talked to?

Jet: recommend speaking to some of the stewards here about this, gonna end this here

Caitlin: sure

5: Getting a fountain downstairs[edit | edit source]

On topic Getting a fountain downstairs
From/Raised by Chaz
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Chaz: The only source of water here is the downstairs sink. so let's change that. I'd say i'm somewhat handy. i wanna get that done, there are meeting notes

Naomi: we've definitely authorized this as a group, like "let's throw $500 at this", so what's your intention for this discussion

Chaz: I dont want to do it alone, I dont want to fuck up the vibe, I really like NB and what it has been, I dont want to turn this into ChazBridge.

Jet: we've already allocated $500 towards this... you're just looking for someone to do it or if anyone knows a bit more?

[Kevin and others raise hands to help]

Ciara: are we thinking drinking fountain or what? filtered, reoccurring

Chaz: yeah, like getting one of those Elkin bottle filler type stations. i have zero design preferences or direction, my one goal is have a goal to press button and get response.

Naomi: i don't get it, we keep talking about this over and over again, we already noted that we like SF tap water and we're fine with it.

Jet: Anything to add about the topic....

LX: I was part of the convo on discord... I just want to point out that we need a sink and a fountain, the sink being a place for ppl to wash dishes downstairs.

Jet: we should treat these are totally separate.

Elan: since this was brought up last time, the Daniels added a water bubbler to the cafe and it can be refilled. we do have "something" now, can be easily upgraded - if anyone

Loren: suggestion about process, seems like we just need a place to update and a group of ppl, that group should proceed on its own. historically Ken has had a lot involvement w/ building out the space but may be busy right now. is there a channel already?

Naomi: nodding, yeah it's been talked about in the facilities channel

Chaz: i posted about it in the facilities channel and it feels like i got ghosted on it

Naomi: you didn't really get ghosted on it, it's just ppl have multiple things going on. like Loren said just make a project forum channel and collect ppl and information there, there's literally nothing stopping you and nothing more needs to come to weekly meetings to discuss

Loren: I'll help you make a forum post

6: Event Request: Skill share, Ryan, Mutual Aid[edit | edit source]

On topic Event Request
From/Raised by Ryan
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Ryan:

7: opensauce planning[edit | edit source]

On topic opensauce planning
From/Raised by Jet
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Jet: In one month Opensauce is happening at sometime, we have ahuge booth, 8'x16' We can do fire, lazers, moving agressive force items ? Show off workshops, If you have something that fits that bill we'd lve to have you, message me!

July 17-19

Elan: we could bring along Double Union https://doubleunion.org/ folks, Brendan from Sequoia Fabrica

Jet: I will definitely talk to Brendan

Ciara: is there a signup process? Have a car that is available for use

Jet: contact me or get into the opensauce Discord channel. we're kind of early and late at the same time, but we're GOING and we're bringing a lot of stuff and ppl.

Jet: we might be bringing the Flaschentaschen

Naomi: yeah i have reservations about that

Loren: yeah the last time it was brought somewhere it came back and didn't work for 6 months

Elan: i think we SHOULD bring it and further modularize it.

Jet: part of the effort of the planning is modularizing and preparing it to be moved

Naomi: counterpoint, you could think of something new to make and apply that energy and time to THAT instead.

Michael: Maybe make a new flashen tachen, a more tranportable one

Alex: i wanted to get involved with party planning and game dev activity, maybe get each guild to show off something from their guild at opensauce. A backup could be bringing Carl's new Flaschentaschen instead. do we have a mtg planned to organize this?

Jet: not yet, we can organize one. would love to bring another device (e.g. the mini FT) and we do have plans to get the FT into a state where we're confident in being able to move it.

Jet we do something similir to maker fair, with shoing off games. Im going to rbing to the next disscusion item. message me

8: Consumption at noisebridge[edit | edit source]

On topic Consumption at noisebridge
From/Raised by null
Seeking decision/outcome/advice/[?]

Null: just wanted to bring up a thought i had around consumption (boozing, drugging) - there've been instances over the past monht or 2 where ppl are bringing copious am'ts of alcohol into the space. I don't really drink but some ppl do, this extends to cannabis/weed/etc. it's on my mind when i see that, like ppl laying down 3 alcohol bottles offering drinks to everyone, and it might be hard for ppl struggling w/ their own consumption issues. It's harder to be excellent when you're inebriated, harder to handle yourself and other ppl, might exacerbate miscommunication.

Alex: It sounds like youre raising the issue of if there are people in the space who are recovering, and someone is walking around offering alcohol, they could be tempted moreso. They chose to not go to bar, noisebridge is not a bar...

Null: less targeted to recovering alcoholic and more "do we need to be bringing out tons of alcohol and going around soliciting drinking". there's someone in the space i've noticed doing this pretty often. seems like a habit.

Loren: Couple angles...It was suggested that NB fund this...as much fun as it is to occisially drink in the space, it detracts from the things people come to the space to do. Limit it in space. Limit it in time. Limit the encouraging, roping others into it.

Null: Im not looking for immdiate action, but we should think about it

Ciara: i love fun, drinking, marijuana. i don't come to NB to do these things, not what i want out of the space. it's an accelerant for bad things. having it localized to certain rooms or days of the week, e.g. "drinking Friday" [laughs] reduces the blast radius of things. i used to drink a lot w/ my coworkers allegedly after-hours and i didn't enjoy that and i don't want to be around certain ppl who aren't as nice when they're inebriated.

lx: ITs a balancing act , the majority of them have features events here tasting and sharing alcohol is a thing. Theres drinking at every afterparty, I would be hesistant to discourage people drinking in the space, while they are being excellent..You want a guideline about being excellent, and the importance that alchol and drugs should not affect you doing that.

Null: it's a matter of the cultural norms, e.g. Naomi has a Guinness in front of her

Naomi: ZERO! i am going alcohol free

Newman: I'm someone who does drink and use marijuana occsionally, but i completely agree that its something to think about how it affects being excellent in the space

Wheezy: specific cases of ppl who've come here an abused cocaine, etc, in front of ppl, some have been 86d, some have left on their own, this comes down to me seeing "You are trouble" -- i think we all know ppl who've done this here, behaviors change when you're on these substances.

Loren: direct response, the social concerns ppl have raised are exactly exacerbated by both... bringing alcohol and offering it to everyone and trying to make an event out of it, like every night, all of these make ppl more likely to feel less thoughtful or intentional about it.

Wheezy: substance abuse is unkind, be nice to substances.

Naomi: I recenetly have been drinking more while at noisebridge, It has made me feel worse and we should be more intentional about it. Keep it special, everyday cocktails is not cool. I've decided to tone it down, not bring alcohol to space the way i have been.

kavya: Was there a specific incident?

Jet: Yes

Naomi: I dont feel like we are responding to a specific incident, or to alcohol being bad all the time, so much as we should be more mindful and less every-day about it.

michael: the rule is be excellent, and if you're drinking it's harder to consider this. if you offer someone alcohol you're sort of inviting a different person to the space. i do like this is a place we can unbutton collars a bit, and also i love that we're talking about it, we don't want the place to descend into madness

Ciara: There's a different position here where as a woman, your exposed to a different set of behavior, maybe our male counterparts do not perceive this. We want the space to be safe

elan: thinking back through NB events where we had alcohol, there's a difference there between fundraiser drinks and just drinking at NB outside of events. there were two incidents were men were just straight up problems. i have ended up having to deal w/ folks and it was unpleasant. a woman was assaulted at a space during a party, 5 ppl were 86'd. drugs and alcohol were a part of it. i don't know all the details but some ppl in this room do. there were ppl who were underaged here, i highly suspect they got their alcohol HERE at the space.

Victor: yeah there were bottles sitting outside

Elan: like if Naomi is drinking a 0.5% ABV i don't have a problem w/ that. i don't think we should be storing substances esp. where we have kids coming for Circuit Hacking or whatever. ood rule of thumb is don't leave these things out, or take them away, don't leave them here.

wez: Ive been coming here since i was a minor, we used to have a robot that served people, everyone knew that underage people cannot use the robot.... MJ has felt very specifically peer pressured in the space by caitlyn to drink with her and when she refused, she treated differently and meanly by her afterwards

Loren: There are events at NB that are well controlled environments with people consuming drugs and alchol that do not interfere with our mission.

I would distinguish 2 things here - 1) norms around regular & habitual use -- and 2) events (variants -- 2a) events for NB by NB e.g. fundraisers, 2b) internal events by NB, 2c) events by others at NB -- but not directly in furtherance of our own Mission & Purpose.

josh: There are some people that push alcohol on you in this space to the point where it's not a welcoming invitation anymore.

null: it's disheartening seeing Caitlin bringing alcohol so often and sort of pushing it on people. I think it makes sense that someone talks to her and adress the issue, maybe not bring alcohol into the space so much

LX: i've looked at our wiki and i don't think we have any written guidance or signage about this. i've posted some draft language of what ppl seem to think are at least partially in favor of here.

LX: Draft start to policy for the safety pages: High Risk Machine Use Safety When using High Risk Machines such as Laser Cutter or Wood Shop there are significant risks and safety procedures that must be followed. DO NOT USE HIGH RISK MACHINES WHILE INTOXICATED. Do not allow anyone else to use high risk machines while intoxicated. Alcohol Do not get highly intoxicated or encourage other people to be highly intoxicated at the space. Do not allow people under 21 years of age to drink alchohol in the space. If you see someone who looks possibly too young drinking or asking to drink, it is excellent to ask for them to show identification before allowing them to continue. If someone does not agree to show identification and tries to drink in the space, they may be asked to go elsewhere If someone refuses being asked to leave because of alcohol it may escalate to Ask to leave. https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Safety#EQUIPMENT_SAFETY

Jet: takewaways -- do not put alcohol into fridge, nor on the patio, and let's have more respectable practices about how we offer it, how we handle it. We'd like for it, alcohol, to help serve camaraderie, rather than

elan: there are 2 local noisebridge bars... they're always open for us, nearby.

LX: we do need to store alcohol for events, and it's reasonable for people to enjoy a few beers, responsibly at their own pace, or from time to time.

Do-ocratic Task Board[edit | edit source]

Participation also means doing stuff to contribute to the space. Propose new tasks or pick some tasks from Github, from what needs to be done around you, or whatever, and see if someone will sign up to work on that task. Anyone can sign up and it's a great way to show you are contributing!
