Great turnout, big enough that we shifted from conversation to examining an informative question: how does IP routing, ASes, etc, network engineering, work for Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet constellation in low earth orbit.

  • Doug - history in software engineering & statistics, since June learning more about infra, putting together a private gpu cloud. Journey with DNS and proving ownership.
  • Pablo - relative newbie, building first projects with react, firebase, CalFresh easy versus MediCal covered california difficulty, university insurance was great. GetCalFresh.org, In-browser games.
  • Loren - running these for a few months. Like to share knowledge, like to keep learning.
  • David - don't know any infrastructure, bg in mathematics, want to know more. Miami U. recently trying to set up a home server.
  • Ryan - been here a few times, here to learn and hang out
  • Matt - know loren from university, ocf.io, sysadmin, here for vibes.
