Lesson or Demo[edit | edit source]

  • Read aloud: clarify for meetup. We are taking notes in a riseup pad (or I am--help appreciated, and links). We have meeting notes posted to the wiki. noisebridge.net, search Infra, or Meetups/Infra. (the Infrastructure page has a disambiguation link.)
  • Shell, web services, self-hosting, networking!

SuperQ updates:

This is meant to help us understand existing bottlenecks in our web-serving infrastructure! All assistance is welcomed!

Software vulnerability updates https://sockpuppet.org/blog/2026/03 /30/vulnerability-research-is-cooked/

Demo: Elan gave a quick demo of SourcesPlease, app that he's serving on fully declarative baremetal k8s using GitOps

  • Talos+Istio+KEDA+CNPG+FluxCD
  • mini-postmortem/lesson learned: a lot of modern web-framworks do clever things to be more responsive (hashed-based chunking for delivering resources) that do funny things when you don't understand the mechanisms properly (ie. without proper handling resources go missing on redeploy because it looks for a differnt hash)

Questions, Discussion, or Coworking[edit | edit source]

- bluesky community-notes? -

Outros[edit | edit source]

  • Doug - interested in bad actor detection
  • Alex - likes SourcesPlease, wanted to go into post-quantum encryption strategy
  • Jake - likes seeing a small-scale k8s deployment actually doing
  • Ciara - needs to look at infra deployments/NoiseGarden
  • Ryan - really appreciated seeing that noisebridge has metrics
  • Kevin - liked seeing demos/ the disccussion
  • Zoe - liked seeing the projects/hearing about Internet archive
  • Eugene - appreciated hearing about epistemology, would like to see local-inferencing (diffusion, etc), interested what is possible in quantized, interested in nix as an agentic playground
