What?[edit | edit source]

This is an interest group and recurring event for teaching, learning, and working on UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).

When?[edit | edit source]

Every thursday from 8 pm to 10 pm, beginning on May 29, 2014.

Where?[edit | edit source]

Somewhere in the noisebridge space. Details will be sorted out based on how many people show up and what tools we need.

Who?[edit | edit source]

Anyone who is interested in teaching, learning, and working on UAVs. Especially teaching, because I have no clue what I'm doing.

The event is organized by User:Alanpersak.

Why?[edit | edit source]

So we can conquer the world with a swarm of flying robots.

Details[edit | edit source]

I will be working on building, programming, and flying a UAV of my own and I would like to invite anyone who is interested to join me.

My goal is to build a custom quadcopter from commercial parts costing less than $500 total. I will be optimizing for power efficiency and flight time.

The meetup will happen weekly on thursdays from 8-10 pm.

There will not be any sort of lesson or presentation, because I have no idea what I'm doing yet. It's just a time for some work and collaboration.

Meeting 1[edit | edit source]

  • make a bill of materials and start sourcing parts
  • make a list of resources for learning about parts.
  • make a list of parts suppliers.
